i was trying to get an octave pedal other than those boss ones. any good suggestions? i play allot of live electronic music so it also has to have a really nice tone to it. help me out!

Octave pedal suggestions please?

Depends on what you want and what your price range is.
Digital octave pedals track better, but analog pedals tend to have a more appealing tone. Some pedals only go down an octave, but some can also go up one or even two octaves.

EBS octabass seems to have a very good reputation. I'm thinking about buying an octaver too and if I do, I'll certainly buy the EBS
If you're playing electronic music, you're more likely than not looking for an analog octave divider rather than a polyphonic pedal such as the POG, which doesn't have quite the same deep, organic quality to it that analog dividers have.
There are a few pretty affordable octave dividers out there, some of which include the Aguilar Octamizer, MXR M-288 Bass Octave Deluxe, and the EBS OctaBass, as mentioned above.
I only have experience with the MXR, but the Octamizer seems to be the most versatile of them all (and to track very well), the MXR tracks decently but it has a somewhat congested sound on certain notes to my ears, and doesn't track that well on the G-string (in my experience). I'd venture to say the EBS excels at the deep and smooth sounds, according to a general consensus here, and tracks well.

I really like my MXR M-288. I haven't played any other analog, but I did try the stuff on a Line 6 XT Live. It was ok, but lacked the organic quality that Freaqy mentioned.

well, i would have to vote for the boss oc2 for the best live electronic music tone...
but that's just me... and a bunch of other dudes that play this stuff.... i briefly tried the octamizer over at the aguilar office and it sounded promising, but the bass i was trying with wasn't really very punchy, so i couldn't really determine if the pedal could give it up with some punch... might try to get over there this week with my pedal board to compare against the boss.
but really, the boss oc2 is the best, IMNSHO.

My fav is the micropog, however, i wonder why you don't want to consider boss. I'm with john davis....i think for live electronic music the oc-2 is literally the best out there. I personally don't like too many boss pedals, but seriously, the oc-2 is a gem.
I like how people don't recommend the pog pedals because they are too digital sounding, yet electronic music IS digital.
Digital in a thin, non-interesting manner. VS fat and thick in an analog way. I'm sure someone could make a fat digital octaver if they really wanted.
