Octave up octave

have you been using one? Any thoughts?

Yes the Tender Octaver specifically for a Pat Methany guitar solo ("Are you going with me")- octave up. Using it with a Bearfootfx Blueberry to add a little dirt.
I've also tried it on songs together with a little chorus or reverb on and that sounds good too.

It seems like a crazy low price, is it legit?

OK, TomTop seems legit! Got one brand new, shipped from China for $47.
Ordered on 11/20, got here 11/27. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, not too bad.

The sound of the pedal is good. The octave down is usable, although not as powerful or versatile sounding as my Aguilar Octamizer.
Octave up sounds good, on par with the POGs I think. The tracking is very good, with the usual digital whine and slight (but totally usable) lag time. It doesn't sound too sweet on certain intervals like major 3rds and minor 6ths. As I remember, the POG2 didn't have that problem, so maybe it's not a true clone. So it won't work super well for clean sustained dense chord work. But for doubling a bass line or playing a brief distorted guitar solo, it sounds pretty darn good. Through a decent guitar amp it would probably sound great. Too bad it doesn't have a separate out for the effected sound. But, $47 shipped and taxed is a pretty amazing deal.

Found an interesting sound... If you set the dry volume all the way up and the high octave to about 3:00 and put it through a bit of nice bottom-heavy dirt (not too much, I'm using a bass tightFuzz), you get the big combined sound associated with an octaved sound. But if you then follow that up with a mid-scooped eq (I'm using the Grizzy bass), it suddenly separates the octave sounds so it sounds like a huge gritty 8 string bass. Very cool.

I would be very happy to get those information.
I am new in octave effects. So, I am really interesting in one thing - I would like to buy EHX Bass Synth. But, let's only talk about octave here, octave up.
Does EHX Bass Synth does octave up? So, in a way that I play bass line (so normal bass, octave 0) and put up 1 more octave up (so octave +1). Octave +1 I mean like a guitar octave.
So, to play bass line and guitar line in a rock riff silmoutanisly.
Image three piece band, bass and guitar have the same riff; then guitar goes to solo, bass kick the switch keep his bass line and just add a guitar line to; with a overdrive if needed, mostly it .

So, does it do that? And if it is useable with a drive sound?

Or I need POG or Mooer Tender Octaver (cheaper version) to achive that?
Ofcourse, I know that the best is to split the signal and put higher signal in an another amp. But what are my options in an one amp set?

My mooer octaver shows up today, I'll let you know. I think you will be ok with using one amp, that is my plan. Using two amps and splitting the octave is taking it way too far, unless you play in a 2 piece band of bass and drums. I don't think the EHX bass synth is what you want. POG or Pitchfork by EHX will do the octave up well, but the Mooer is cheaper....I play in a three peice power trio and see much application for this effect at certain times to fill out the sound when the guitar player is soloing.

I have had a few days to mess around with the Octaver, and used it on a recording session last night. IT FREAKING KILLS! This session was for a hard rock tune where the bass is over driven. I added an octave up dialed in about halfway. You can't hear the octave at all on the record, but it adds attitude and clarity to an overdriven bass part. OMG. When i turned it off, it was like a blanket had been thrown on the speakers. At max it sounds like an 8 string bass, tracks beautifully. The lower octave doesn't track as well, but perhaps better than my old Boss 002. It has a different tone and I don't see myself using the octave down much. The octave up turned up between 10 and 1 oclock is powerful tone shaping tool that helps when you play in a power trio and the bass needs to take up more sonic space. Perfect for what I am needing, I haven't been so happy with a pedal purchase since I got my TC Spark Booster. Only thing I don't like is the lack of a battery option, but that is due to the mini format and is par for the course there. I highly recommend checking this out. It will even track 3 note bass chords very well.

I bought a gently used Micro POG from Reverb to fill sonic space in my current group. I felt like the octave up got a bit tinny or metallic sounding, a little harsh, as I turned it up, but that may just be a matter of me needing to do better with the EQ and blending. I found a tone I like with the Dry and Octave Down at noon and the Octave Up at 9 o'clock. Tracks perfectly, sounds great, especially when I run it into my Phase 90. I think it may become the permanent front end on my board.

yes! Of course the POG is superior, but you can't beat the price of the Tender, and the tiny form factor is perfect for me.

I guess I mean as far as features wise. i have never used a pog but I know it has more power and features. I am happy with the Mooer and if all I ever use it for is the octave up that will be worth it.

I bought a used MicroPOG from a fellow TB member a few weeks ago.
I love it!
Tracks beautifully. I only use the Octave Up feature. Run through distortion or overdrive it just sings!

Yes. with OD its amazing. Sounds huge. I am sure the Mooer and the MicroPog are very comparable.

I just bought a TRex Quint Machine on a whim. Anybody ever try that one, and how does it compare to the Mooer Tender Octaver or the Micro POG?

You have to go digital for a good octave up. Micro-POG is probably your best choice.

I use the trex octavious. .works great for me has separate controls for octave up and octave down check it out on YouTube that's what sold me ..good tracking too.

I use a Boss PS-6 for any pitch shifting that isn't down. It's a fun pedal.

The Pitch Fork does a great octave up, and lotsa other stuff too. Very cool and fun pedal.
