OD/Boost Pedals

Yes, but I want an OD with clean boost as well. In one pedal.

Why not just get a Southampton Fifth Gear V1 (there’s one in the TB classifieds right now) and a TCE Mini Spark Booster? Together they take up about as much space as a single standard pedal, cost maybe $150 tops for both, and give you everything you want. Plus more flexibility in your signal chain.

Because I already have an Avalanche Run, FPTSD, Bananana Matryoshka and tuner running off of a Strymon Ojai with no plans on getting a bigger power supply.

Just get a cheap Godlyke or Trutone 1SPOT and daisy chain them. They’re not fussy pedals. You don’t need a super fancy PS for either of them.
Yeah, but it’s the exercise in discipline that I’m trying to maintain by only using the five outlets. My FPTSD is essentially a Fuzz with a boost switch so I figure an OD will be even better considering my experience into OD/Boost pedals lately. If I can get good sounds out of both sides of an OD/Boost then I’ll only use one power outlet and yeh.

Fuzzrocious offers both a second distortion and a gated boost mod for the Demon and Cat Tail. For a bit more money, I'm thinking you could combine either with a LunaReclipe, which could function as your boost and also give you additional clipping options.

I was just thinking here. Since you have less of a need for pedals that color your tone, have you thought about a compressor with eq? I use an FEA Opti Fet and it boosts my signal pretty good. Now, there may be more powerful ones out there, but I love the extra bump in volume and fullness it offers. I mean, that's unless you're really after just the od tones. In that case, I'm no help because most of the boosts I've tried made my ears feel like they were going to bleed. lol

No, it was a one-off, but honestly it should be a stock pedal. I guess with the switch on the ATE now they've made one kind of like it, but even with that, you can't stack the two, which I can. Mine is literally two Fifth Gear V1s in a single 125B.

Sounds pretty dreamy. The single-tailed V2 I’ve got stacks well with anything I’ve tried it with, so I’d guess it shouldn’t be surprising that a double scoop of the same works “mo’ better” as the phrase goes. I’ve got a ton of gain coming off the Broughton Alex-1 preamp Josh did for me. And combined with my Fifth Gear, it’s a very potent combination for rock.

I have a T-Rex Bassjuice on order, not sure it does clean boost though just more overdrive boost. I use the boost on my Markbass Super Booster to get to 11.
