the saying they use in China is:

I have never understood that saying because you most certainly can put a square peg in a round hole depending on the dimensions.

Heard some odd colourful expressions in the English language over the years which I really like (for their colourfulness). For example:

From a British friend:
"She (/he/it) doesn't stand a cat in hell's chance."

From an American friend:
"F*** you and the horse you rode in on."

These still make me chuckle.
