Odd question: strap color

What color strap would you use with a sunburst jazz with maple fretboard? I have a black leather or a tan/brown leather strap. Don't flame, this is just a curiosity thing.

I actully have put a minute of thought into this over the years. I have a strap for each and every bass and guitar I own. Every one has it's own color and type. From my Modulus' Natural body and it's black leather strap to my Hondo Longhorn Creamburst with a Cream leather strap to my Jay Turser JTB-401 Music Man Trans Teal with a classic 60's woven blue/green strap. None of it really matters except to me. I like the fine details of my basses.

Here's a strap made by Fender that has black and brown that I think goes pretty well. As you can see in the picture, the Precision has a lot of color variations itself.

Depends on the brown. If it's an old beat up sweat-seasoned leather sort of medium brown, then I'd go for that. Otherwise black.

What color pickguard do you have on it? If it's black, I'd go with the black strap. If it's tort, you could probably go with either. If it's a white guard, take that sucker off and get a black or tort!!!

Seriously though, because of the black edges of the burst, your best bet will probably be the black strap.

I've switched between black and brown straps for my sunburst jazz with tort pickguard. Both are ok. Black probably looks a little better though. I use a black one for my Yamaha TRB 1004 because it has black hardware.

I love how these sort of threads light up the boards. I actually use the same black strap on all my basses (which are black). I'm thinking I'll just go black (cuz, you never go back...)
