Odd question: strap color

Thanks for the opinions everyone. I wasn't looking for approval, I was looking for insight and I got that. Thanks. Oddly enough I've settled on my ole comfy Levi black strap.

Here's a strap made by Fender that has black and brown that I think goes pretty well. As you can see in the picture, the Precision has a lot of color variations itself.

Those are REALLY good and comfortable straps. I have the all black version (except it has a small brown circle with the Fender logo in it). Best strap I've ever worn.

I have a Couch "Racer X" strap (brown with orange stripe) on my '59 burst, with Gotoh strap locks. It's very comfortable and sharp looking. The Racer X and "I am 8 bit" straps (from Couch's artist series) have black plastic adjusting loop (where their other straps have metal adjusting loops).

Also, with strap locks on the bass, my leather strap could not be length adjusted (where the Couch one can be). I wondered if I'd see any scuffing on my bass from the loop or the rivets but have not with Racer X. Calaverasgrande, have you had any issues with metal loop on strap end (contacting bass?)

I'm using a bright red Doctor Song that I got around the same time as my candy apple red Dynabass, except I mostly use it with white basses now.

I use Couch brand straps on all my basses and guitars. If you are vegan/vegetarian there is the added plus that they are non-leather. If you aren't there is the added plus that they look excellent. Most of their stuff is made from deadstock/vintage car seat materials.

What? You are another failed guitarist who they made play bass, right?

Take off those leather pants and understand as a bass player it's not about YOU or your complexion, but about the BASS.

My view is that my burst Fender basses are old school. Hence, the strap has to be old school. Black leather is old school. That's it. Of course, my plain old traditional black leather straps aren't as cool as some of those the guys have came up with here, but they work on a Fender just fine.

I save matching the eyes and complexion of the bass for those with much more personality than a Fender. Now the best strap for metal is a whole 'nother issue.

Try recording yourself wearing each one and see which gives you more growl and greater note-definition. Don't forget to post up!

I use straps that pick up some color on the bass. Your choice.

And you should definitely use a strap that gives you better sustain. All the pro players do this. Trust me.
