Odd Speaker Box Question

Wasn’t sure where to post this….

I have an old pair of 15” coax JBL drivers. I’m wondering if anyone had suggestions for empty boxes that are “decent furniture grade”. I’m not super concerned with optimum size/configuration…this will not be for monitoring. I’m actually looking to put one on either end of a couch as “end tables”.
Thanks Folks!

"Amps and Cabs" would be a better place for this post.

Pieces that look good enough to be furniture won't be cheap.

Check the vintage hi-fi gear on eBay.
Keep an eye on estate sales.
Or, find some cheap enclosures and have them veneered.

I have a pair of Altec "Valencia" speakers, loaded with the correct Altec Lansing Voice-of-the-Theatre drivers. Chances are that the speakers wouldn't sound as good with the JBLs, and because they're two-way, they would probably be too tall for end tables. But they look good!

Thanks! Great advice!
I’ve been looking into vintage boxes..one of the issues is the “MCM thing” is so hot right now everyone is restoring them to full functionality and asking a small fortune.
I guess I gotta get lucky!!

If you have even meager woodworking skills, you could make some. Either MDF or ply and then do a veneer. Copy a nice MCM look.

Or, see if you can find a cheap pair of Bozaks with no woofers, or something to that effect.
I’ve built boxes in the past and I think my woodworking skills qualify as sub-meager. Utilitarian garage shelves and other purely functional projects I’m down for but once the slightest bit of finesse is required failure is eminent
