Offical B.C. Rich Club!

Nice Innovator bass DanoesqBass. Been thinking about adding their brass 4 string non string thru bridge in black to my warlock. Mainly for the asthetic of black hardware. And perhaps fine tune string spaceing a little. And I just love brass bridges tone wise. Lol. Allmost got an innovator back in the mid 90's but only one available I knew of was flat top, and not so much into flattop. Prefers them like yours. Great lookiing top on yours too.

Hey Guys
I'm new to talkbass so I will try to send some pics of my Eagle bass. I have to say that I think it's the bass I liked the most through all my GAS adventures. Sad but the only thing in common with the stuff they pass of as B.C. Rich today is the name IMHO...

When I played guitar, I had always wanted one of these. An old guitarist buddy of mine had a Warlock that we used to thrash to back in the mid 90's. I remember it being pretty heavy. This bass feels ultra light... But it could be just because I'm used to my Ibanez 5 string.

i recently bought a couple of heritage mock basses, and i was actually surprised at how great they play and sound. i did a few mods on them to address the neck dive issue (should've done that back in 1975 when i designed it), and i re-did the headstock with an indian rosewood overlay and mother of pearl "R" inlay to give it a more vintage appearance. anyway here's a pic of the trans black one that i sold on ebay about a week ago.

and here's the red one that i'm keeping (i haven't done the headstock yet), but i have since changed out the black hardware with chrome, installed some hipshot ultralite heads, gave it the strap button mod and 'tummy cut'.

i also gave it a 'tummy cut' for comfort:

Well, this is the only BC Rich I have now. A 1982/82 Warlock.

I did have a 1980 Mahogany Mockingbird in trans red I traded for my 1st multi track recorder. I miss it alot. But it got me into the world of recording. so the sacrifice is acceptable.

Nice! I wish the one I had sounded as good as those look like they sound...

hmmm? both of mine sound great. i actually bought them with the intention of changing the pickups/electronics, but the moment i plugged them in, i was very impressed with their tone. IMO, they sound great.

I had a "Wave" bass back in the 80's with a transparent electric violet/purple over quilted maple finish... it was spectacular looking, but I never got on with it really. The neck was a slight bit chunky, and I could never get the intonation right for some reason.

It was a cool as heck bass, but I traded it away somewhere along the line.

I went back to its original gold hardware with the addition of a Hipshot bridge to make 17mm string spacing. You can see the strings go to the limits higher on the neck. The new bridge also allowed me to adjust neck and lower the string height (the original wouldn't) for optimum action. The EMG-Hz pups have a somewhat mid-scooped sound which is not a problem for what I use it for. After all that it is pretty much OK now.

Well i got my hard case for my Warbeast, the BCMGC1. Which on their site says it'll fit the warbeast bass, but it doesn't. You'll have to pull the felt up and carve out two areas of the foam. It'll work tho.

Makes me remember why I hate hardshell bass cases. Damn things are HUGEEEE!!! specially a BC Rich case.

Decided to throw some vinyl on my Warbeast today. Since the Trace Warbeast doesn't come in any other options.

Might do the headstock over. I started with that on a whim to see how it would look and spent more time on the body doin it right. Wont take but a few minutes if I decide to take the vinyl off and apply some new strips.

wow, i wish tim keys would see your bass and put that out as a finish option. the only reason i havent bought a warbeast yet is cuz i have been waiting for more color options (and more money). im not to much for the black and silver except for joe benchs from boltthrower. but i love the black and red.

I dont see too much love for BC Rich basses here on TB, I dont see much hate either, its like no one wants to mention them. I have used this Ultraviolet Warlock as my primary bass for 10 or so years. Heck, I sold of some expensive basses in favor of this one including a Rickenbacker 4003. I would love a number.

I recently took these photos and posted them on a BC Rich forum in an attempt to determine its vintage, the consensus seemed to be between '87-'89. I bought it for $100 in '94ish. I've been trying for a few years to find an Ironbird in the same color, recently found one on eBay too...for $2500 :eyebrow:. Needless to say I'm still looking.
