That bass came up in my Ebay feed one day. It was made in China, probably right along side most of the BC Rich branded instruments made these days. There was no pic of the headstock (for obvious reasons I think), it's not an authentic BC Rich, and it was about $300 shipped. It arrived in pretty bad shape with the neck lifting off due to a broken screw and a stripped screw used to install the neck. I don't have any 6 string basses, I like the Mockingbird shape, and it seemed like a cool project, so I got the seller to refund me some money, and fixed the bass up a bit. I dowelled the original holes used to attach the neck, redrilled them, and used a chrome plated cast aluminum BC Rich neck plate. The bridge was crooked, so I reset that. I replaced the tuners with Gotoh GB727's, added a pickup selector, replaced the wiring with a RIC spec harness for humbuckers, re-cut the the truss rod cover, and added the chrome foil logo on the headstock. The bass sounds and plays decently, and was well wort the $300 I put into it.

In all seriousness, you know where I got my Wave. He's indicated he would be willing to part with either of the "T-birds" (Yes, BCR T-bird clones - the grey quilt one looks STUNNING!) or the red Wave. Probably has some others too... I know he has that multi-color ST but I suspect that's a bolt-on. He offered to sell any of those to me, but I didn't even ask the price, I'm content with what I got.

If he names a price I'm presuming he is pretty firm on it though... keep that in mind. I found him to be easy to deal with.

Thanks for your comments chaps.
I’m very proud of my brood, and they do get used fairly regularly. I love the reverse headstocked warlock- I have another ultraviolet one which I restored from a wreck, but I’m sofa surfing atm whilst I’m waiting for a house purchase to complete, and my basses are spending time with friends.
I do love the ironbird, and I know it’s not common, but I scored it for £60 a few years back ( and I regularly get messages from both the U.K. and Europe asking me to sell if ever I post it on social platforms.) but it ain’t going anywhere lol
I get frustrated that we don’t often see things like wave basses on this side of the pond, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles I suppose.
I’m always looking for new babies, so the family may yet grow some lol

Actually I know of at least ONE Wave in the UK. (I guess 1 out of the rumored 120-ish ever made isn't bad) I tried to get him to sell it to me, but no dice. (That was before I bought my blue one).

On an Eagle (Bodine) bass, does anyone have any preferred strap pin location for the least amount of neck dive? I've seen them all over the place. Top of the upper horn, on the back of the upper horn, or even on the small bevel edge of it. Mine came with it on top of the horn, but it looks like there's a filled-in hole on the bevel.
