You can tell if it's a double baffle because there's a strip of wood going horizontally across the front of the speaker. There is the baffle the speaker is mounted to, and it's got 4 pieces of wood in the corners that space the second baffle out a little. From what I gather, the second baffle helps to mute highs and mids a little and makes it have a more bottomy response. Works for me. It's the only 15" cab I've ever really liked. But I haven't tried the 70's Thiele cabs like you have. I may pick one up if it's cheap enough.

You're sending yours to Jess Oliver!?? I've seen some of his restorations in e-bay auctions. His stuff makes my heart beat fast. Be sure to tell him how much he means to the bass world for us!
Here's a pic of my B2 that I use with yet another fliptop bottom that I inherited. The original speaker was gone, so I dropped a spare Carvin that I had in it. It can really cover a room.

Ya, those cabs come to life with a high powered speaker. I'm getting a Fliptops replica with a 200w Eminence in it, and mine currently has a a no-name Eminence that I think runs at 100w. I'm going to see if I can get one of those JBL D-141's that used to be a factory upgrade over the CTS.

Yeah, I decided to send it to Jess because I just discovered a month ago that mine was the double baffle. I always assumed it was the single baffle. I never touch the grill and I couldn't see the piece of wood going across the front in normal light, so I took a pic of it for this thread and discovered it in the pic. And it had such a crappy re-tolexing done on it, and the head could use some tweaking, so I figured I'd send it to him. Might as well...there's only one Jess Oliver!

V4BH on top of an 810E and a SVT 3Pro on top of a BSE410HS and BSE115. Every last bit of it is made in the USA as far as I know too!

I posted this pic to the "Rocker's Rigs" thread a few days ago, but just noticed this one...

I recently traded my Eden/Bergantino rig for a SVT4-Pro and SVT 410HE. I'm running the amp mono-bridged into the cab, which is way too much power to turn all the way up, but gives me killer headroom. This setup delivers a smooth, consistent kick to your chest...I love it!

Kinda unrelated, but I went to my local music store this morning, and to my amazement there sat a vintage V-4B in good shape!!!...

And it wasn't for sale. Some idiot had replaced all the tubes without re-biasing and turned it on...surprise surprise it was in for repair.

I wish it was on sale, I would have gotten in a heartbeat!

I don't have any pictures yet (especially of everything together) but I'm definitely an Ampeg gear owner. Here is what I have (all USA made):

SVT-2 Pro (grey face from 2000 or so)
SVT-3 Pro (90's red and blue lettering)
SVP Pro (90's red and blue lettering)
SVT-15E cabinet (x2)
SVT-410HE cabinet

I'm still experimenting to find what I like. I also like GK (I'm hoping to score an older 800RB) and Peavey (I have a Mark IV) so we'll see where I land...
