Thin yellow layer on back wall - yes, good to know. Thick layer of pink on sides and bottom that looks about as old. Since you qualified your statement, AFAIK, might be prudent to let it be and get a second (or third) opinion. Thanks for your input.

Actually, I'm 99% sure, but I'm happy for others to chime in. I have a 60's SB-12 and had a early 60's B-15. Both had the thin yellow batting on the back wall. There are several posts about this if you do a search. Did I really say search? Sorry about that.

Portaflex Cabinets Insulated?
My '66 B-15 has pink and yellow fiberglass insulation in the cab. Can anybody tell me if it came from the factory that way.

Yellow is original, it was just on the back wall. I think the story goes that it was actually the same stuff used to insulate stoves. The pink stuff was added by someone.

Nice Harley Fenderampeg, update i got a wrench onto my tranny's and gave the screws a hard turn and did the same with every screw i could get to and..........THE RATTLE HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!! so happy i got that taken care of. Now all i have is the grill cloth and she will be all good. I also just got a new bass to pair with my B15

Not pictured was the B12X I rescued locally and need to get it to JohnK_10 for some work, the B-15 NRF cab I just got and the SB12 on the B12NC cab that started it all. (thinking of selling)

I actually have thought about a B-18 I may be selling a few other tube amps to make room (waaay more power than I'll ever need).

And yes I do play them all, it's funny some days one just sounds better than the other....

Until now, I'd never seen a B-12 alongside a SB-12. I used to own an SB-12, but I had forgotten how close it was to the B-15 in size. The B-12 is much more compact. Much easier to cart around.

The B-12 is on a non original dolly, or at least the casters are not so it sits about 1.5 inches lower than it would.

I've been fortunate enough to own plenty of toys already in my young life. I'll stick to the bare essentials for this part of my journey but I'm sure one day I'll miss them enough to buy again...

It sure was this morning, Y splitter cable, one side to the B-12, the other to an LS2 in and send A to the B15 send B to the SB12.

I should have known better than to wake her up before the crack of 10... so my bad.

The B12/15 both with jbl's sounded similar with some tweaking of both, tone stacks were close. The SB12 was just a whole different animal, could be the different circuit and cut baffle and 15" speaker but the tone was more mids and highs. So with the SB12 for the upper range and the other two laying down the lows it sounded awesome

Then came the "really, this early?"

So I decided to tune out, turn off and unplug...... and wash the Harley.

It's possible that opening the cutout to accommodate the 15" Speaker, compromised the baffle and raised the tuning somehow. I'm not an expert on this, it's just a hunch. SB-12's were voiced differently anyway, so it may just be that

Thanks jamzcl, it's nice to have a proper cab under this head, for the longest time I used 4-12's or an 18 and 2-10's. The 610 does the trick! The setup the came close though, was two 4-12 cabs, on either side of the drummer, that was pretty cool.
