Hello everyone. I wanted to get your opinions in the ABMs. Is there much of a difference between an ABM500 EVO III and an ABM600 EVO IV?? I read that they have changed a lot of things in the inside of the amp (not just the EQ).

How are the VS cabs? I lost my chance to get one VS.212 and I regret it. I use a 410H Evo IV cab now

In my experience the VS cabs have a very traditional tone..almost more like an old baseman than say an ampeg. However, since they were designed for that year's tube amps, they are pretty low wattage for the weight. The vs212 handles 300 at 8ohms and weighs almost 60 pounds. The vs412 basically doubles that at 4 ohms..and weighs 90 something?
As for Evo 3 vs 4.... I haven't played side by side. I do know that the Evo 3's 7 band EQ is now 9 on the Evo 4's.



Can you tell much of a difference between the Evo III and the Evo IV??

I regret not buying the VS cab when I had the chance...

By the way, I changed the valve in my ABM500 EvoII yesterday and took it to the rehearsal... Just wow. I think the valve I was using wasn't in very good condition anymore (I bought the head secondhand 3 years ago) or I didn't like it very much (I never used the drive because of that). But yesterday everything changed... It is awesome. I love the head even more

Sorry for the craptacular photo, but my phone camera isn't the greatest and I'm not a good photographer. Finally got in my second RM 410 EVO this week! Finally back to full 8x10 stack! So light and they sound so good!

Yeah I actually also like the Shape button on my Rootmaster as well. I thought it would be all mud in a live mix but I can actually hear myself really well. I just add a little hi mid and treble at about 1:00 and it sounds great. I run it that way most of the show and engage the shape button for a few songs and it sounds great.

Hey guys, question for the club...I just bought a HOD Geezer and am mainly wondering about the dirt on the amp. I think the circuit might be a tad different than the ABM500/600. But 500/600 users, how do you like your valve drive on the amp? Do you find it useful? Thanks for any scoop.

I have an ABM 900 and overall the drive just seems to saturate the signal a little bit and add a little bit of warmth. Nothing drastic. Supposedly the Geezer Butler amplifier has a little bit more gain in the circuitry. So it should be a little dirtier

Nice! So jealous.
I always put the valve drive around 1-2 o'clock. Nice gritty edge that got dirtier as i dug in.
