Anyone here used both CTM and BTA?

I have only briefly heard a CTM 100 IIRC.

Like @Wasnex said, from what I do recall from talks staff, some of the engineers and email exhanges with Mark are that the BTA is essentially identical functionally (I dont know if there's slight variation in actual component values/quality of components etc) and sound wise on the front end to the ABM Evo III. This matches my personal experience of owning both.

What I understand of the CTM line is it's more vintage voiced and if I recall, similar to the orange AD200 and Fender bassman 100 with regard to tone stack design.

Are there some overlap? I wouldn't be surprised. Some of the little stubby clips I've heard sound like some of the sounds I've grabbed from my ABM/BTA.

Thanks all for the compliments! When I get decent recording capabilities, I'll work on getting clips of both amps throw their paces.

@Novarocker

@Wasnex has posted up some excellent thoughts on how he EQ his various amps

A lot of people found the CTM set up hard yakka but I think it’s fantastic it’s just quirky

I still have my old 1998 ABM Klystrom so I’ll assume that’s more like a bTA front.

Yeah I'd assume the same. I've heard great things about the CTM, hoping to get one sometime.

Infact, would love to pair a stubby with my PF210.

Well guys, I'm about to order a second cab to stack on top of my 410H but I can't decide between 210 or 115. Neo or Ceramic. I'm thinking 115 to add more sub bass, but I might get enough of that (the 410 isn't lacking at all) plus more consistent tone adding two more 10s.
Sway me one way or another?

Here's what Ashdown says is the frequency response of their ABM-410H: 30Hz - 20kHz
Here's what Ashdown says is the frequency response of their ABM-115H or ABM-210H: 37Hz - 2kHz

If you think you should get the 115 "to add more sub bass", then you're assuming that speaker size dictates frequency response.

210 IMO, then you got something for smaller gig needs and don't have to worry about any possibility of 10s and 15s not mixing well.
Yeah the phase canceling seems to be a gamble.

I think i meant rounder not so much sub. There's times I've wanted a little more gut rumble when playing dance music and techno type stuff, reggae.

i emailed Ashdown earlier so we'll see what they recommend.

:D
Got something really cool coming to me next week

My really cool thing arrived! But I wanna wait until my other cab arrives to reveal.
Obviously it's a head. And I love it!

I have to admit that I used to gig an Ashdown ABM EVOIV 410 cab and it sounded pretty amazing. I sold it because I usually play in small-medium venues and I needed more portability, but the sound was impressive.
I never intended on going with a 410 by my Sweetwater guy offered it to me as a demo for 600 and couldn't pass on that. No regrets, it hits hard and handles plenty

The 410 and 210 combo works really well for me. I can bring both cabs, just the 410, or if I want to travel light or I don't need a lot of volume I can bring only the 210, and it still feels and sounds pretty much the same to play.
