Here's one for ya all: I have a 305 i bought in 2007(indonesian)-am I right in thinking the two first numbers of the serial no(in this case 06)designates what year it was made? Or am i way off here?

Anybody know what model Elixer strings are put on the ATK 305 from the factory? I love them,and want to put the same on again when it needs them replaced

I think they're nanoweb lights(.45 .65 .80 .100) paired with a .130, somebody correct me if I'm wrong though.

Beginner question, how do you adjust the output on the preamp? You're talking about something other than EQ'ing right?
I think most people try to match the output of their other basses so they can swap easily at a gig.
Hopefully others will chime in with their POV.
exactly this. granted I only have 3 atks to begin with, but one of them is hotter than the rest so that one is set to minimum and the other two are brought up to match. you can do it by ear, but I got a little fancy and matched input db gain on my recording software. figure if I can, I might as well

The tone is a little thin when the level is set too low, but you've only got a 9V supply, so if you go too far the other way, it will fart out.
My 305 matches the output of the EMG soapbars on my other bass (and delivers a nice fat signa)l, with the gain a little above half-way.
If I was a slapper, I imagine I'd probably have to back it off a bit.

Well my bass made it to my doorstep yesterday! I am now an official ATK owner. Can I have a number?
Only problem was when I opened the box, the case it was shipped in was broken. I have contacted the seller (a musicians exchanged owned ebay account) and am awaiting a response. I don't think it was damaged by the seller, I think it happened in transit. UPS was the shipping company, and the seller had it insured. Dont think it goes in this forum, but what would you do? Who would you contact to see about getting a replacement case?

Made it home,and setup is completed. Got the action down low and straightened the neck a bit;she plays like a dream! Its a 2007 model,but its just been hanging in a shop so its still a "new" bass. Finish is top notch:nice,smooth neck,an ultra-tight neckpocket and no issues with the frets. White pearl pg looks great on the black body and the matching headstock is growing on me. Only problem is ive been playing fivers exclusively for the last ten years,so the string spacing will take some getting used to. So,is there a huge grin on my face? Well of course;its an ATK! Ill try to pull my head out of my *** and post some pics soon. Off to play till my fingers bleed
Need a set of D'Addario xl's ASAP! Granted,the stock Elixirs are smooth,but the tension is a bit high for my taste. Also,the 300 feels heavier than my 305... Strange,but not a problem-I prefer heavy basses. Now back to playing!
