On a personal note, I'm not really a fan of either one.

I happen to prefer "voluminous and tight" on normal ladies-- celebrities in general seem to have a stronger tendency toward stupid, crazy, or both!
I know what you mean in terms of sound, though. It sounds like a Super Twin would be great for blues and rock.

Had a fantastic gig last night. First time out with my new P bass, and a welcome return to my VTBass DI.
After my slightly negative experience with my jazz bass a few weeks ago I'm not totally back on top with my BB2.
The venue was a small pub, with wooden floor and wooden wall panels around the playing area. I expected the worse but it turned out to be one of the nicest (acoustically) venues I've played for a long time.

I'm sure this has been suggested to or thought of by you before.....but.....how about training a couple of builders here in the States to build Barefaced cabinets to your specs?
Make them "more" available here for us players that would love to try/hear/buy Barefaced and at a little better price.....

Looking at the Barefaced Super Compact webpage, once you've added shipping and converted from pounds to dollars, that cab is only about $60 more in the US vs UK.

Five weeks is extremely fast delivery for a high end boutique product. Many Greenboy Audio products can easily take longer for delivery from American builders. You should adjust your expectations on this one.
PS. Both of my BB2 cabs took exactly one day after shipment in the UK to delivery here in California. Astonishing.

Delivery of my cab to the upper midwest (US) was also right at 24 hours after it was shipped from Brighton UK. I did not find the wait for it to be built to be bad at all, and they were very close with their estimate; unlike some products where you wait, the time passes, and then you wait some more. Good things come to those who wait.
Played at a party at the university in my hometown this weekend. Here is a picture of my Barefaced rig that I used at the occasion. Sounded tremendusly good.
Seriously nice! I dig the grill cloth look a lot. Had I bought new cabs I probably would have sprung for it.
Wow, my one cab rig makes me feel like i should at least another cab, even if i dont need it. Im hoping this will last me for the rest of they, at least. New bass, new amp, fairly new cab. Sorted.

For those of you who have played both, how does the SM compare to the BB, as far as sheer volume, punchiness, go ? I'm really torn between the two, as far as a one cab solution for a 7 piece , wedding/private party band . Half the time , I'm carrying the room on my own. We are not crazy loud, but I need to be heard as the material is pretty much dance RnB stuff, old school like Wilson Pickett, Stax, James Brown.

Also very interested in the response to this question as there is a US $200 difference between the BB2 and SM. The BB2 is also heavier. To me, the weight difference is more significant than the cost difference, as I'm the one who carries the cab. There are always stairs, someone here remarked. Lifting the cab into the car in both directions is also a factor. Speaking here as a former owner of an early 80s Peavey TNT and have no desire to loathe a new cab in the same way.

I've owned a One10, Super Midget, and Big Baby II. After using a SM the BB2 seems large, though it's still very light for its size. A SM is as loud as a Fearless F112 (at least) and sounds the same as a BB2, with the BB2 having more girth and heft as you would expect. For me, the SM is the perfect balance between tone, loudness, size and weight. I wound up keeping my SM and One10 and sold the BB2.
That's an interesting comment ( bolded part ). The SM has a tweeter and the BB has a " mid/high waveguide compression driver " . I would assume the mid/high area would sound different in some way between the two.
I expected that it would and it was one of the reasons I went for the BB2 after the SM. I couldn't tell much of a difference (the tweeter in the SM is pretty nice). Of course, it could just be my ears. I believe the tweeter/waveguide in the 2-way cabs is designed to be subtle and smooth, and the woofer is designed to be pretty much full range when the tweeter is lowered or off.
