Well, no. Read the description of the Six 10 and the speaker is described as "a retro sounding high output ferrite 10" loudspeaker".

He explains that to get the vintage character into the sound they needed to use a ferrite magnet. And I just paid the import duty on my Four 10 - it should be delivered to me tomorrow
. The price works out very reasonable in comparison to buying a "normal" 410 from a store too, even with the shipping costs. This is of course the benefit of buying directly from the manufacturer and cutting out the middle man, Alex really has set up a great business model IMO, and for once we are the ones who benefit from it.

Can't beat this for a portable bass rig! One10 + Puma 900, total weight = 17 pounds. I'll be using this for practice, some rehearsals and small Jazz combo gigs. I never thought I'd see the day I'd have a rig this small that sounds so big.
Nice rig (and gorgeous Dinger)! I hear ya. My D-800 into a single One 10 could pull off a small rock gig....freakish in the best possible way.
I'm curious if anyone has recently acquired / tried out a Retro 110 + SM combo. I read another thread where someone had high praise - I know that, generally, you should match cabs with similar sonic characteristics, so I'm wondering if others have had similar positive experiences.
I have a One10 and Super Midget and they sound great together!
Curious if any of you barefaced owners are using a Monique pre with your cab/s and what you think of the sound? I'm shopping for a new cab, narrowing down, barefaced and Audiokinesis Hathor are leading the pack.
Disliked my Super Compact with Monique. It was too dark and congested. The Mo eq points and limits really show up when you try to dial in another sound other than its general voiced tone. The Hathor is a much better match. nostatic and I did a side by side with his Thunderchild, Hathor, and my Barefaced Super Compact. The SC just didn't pair well.
I think a BB2 or a Super Midget would be a better fit. I'm not sure how I'd feel about a 10" BF "Retro" cab with the voicing it has.
In the end, I sold Mo and kept the Barefaced. I've sold my SCompact, and the SMidget I had to step up to the BB2. Im very happy. I could see myself with a SMidget pair as well. Depends on amp, and volume needs.
... To be clear/fair, the Mo voice is a bit dark, and it stands out more when you don't have a cab that can push the higher end on the frequencies. The Hathor mid driver gives enough boost in the top end to balance it out, whereas the SC rolls off around 4K. Also, I was (and still am) running a Nash P bass with a DiMarzio in it which seems to be a tad heavier in bass content than I've come to care for. I think the Mo EQ just couldn't set things where they needed to go with that signal path. Perhaps a brighter, active bass, or pre-preamp could've helped.
I run a Monique with a pair of BB2's. It's absolutely stellar with a nice and even tone, killer low end, and just a great overall feel. My band loves the combination of them together...
I received my Four 10 today. First impressions are all good. Fit and finish excellent, and its shape, depth and weight make it very easy to move around - I certainly won't be worrying about fitting castors. It will be a week before I get to use it in a band situation but I just had to put the Orange AD200 on top of it and play a few riffs with the 59 precision. Tonally the vintage character was immediately apparent - warm, tight and defined. I pushed it a bit and there was no sign at all of the speaker struggling, quite unusual for such a small cabinet as it took it all with ease. In the end I got a steel grill and I think it was a good call as with its small form this cab will be getting a lot of use, the steel grill is a solid design that should provide more than enough protection when being shifted in and out of vehicles. I will also get a cover made.
These are all very cursory first impressions, the speaker will no doubt need a bit of playing to open up to its full potential and I will post more in a week or so. I have a feeling that in a band mix it will be quite superb.

And another update from this excited new Four 10 owner. Just put my Ampeg V4B on it and the amp has never sounded better! I have just sold an Ampeg 410HLF and still have two Ampeg 210AVs and a 212AV so I have reasoned points of comparison. The V4B into the Four 10 was beautifully vintage in character with a less aggressive midrange than the 212AV, really made me want to keep playing. In the short time I was playing it with the precision one thing I noticed was that the V4B tone controls really seem to interact very nicely with the Four 10, the treble control was especially pleasing as I could use it without anything becoming harsh or unpleasant. More to come later when I put the Fender Super Bassman and the Trace Elliott V4 heads on top....
An interesting point also with the grill. I am becoming very happy now that I ended up choosing the steel grill. I was effectively able to compare it with a cloth grill as the 212AV with its silver cloth grill is an almost identical front size although 3" deeper, and placing the two cabs side by side I actually preferred the black metal which surprised me a little. Not sure whether I would feel the same way with a bigger cab, but it just looked right with the small size. Another advantage of the metal grill which I had not considered but is very applicable to the Four 10 size is that the cab with its shallow body is easy to pick up and the natural way to do it is from the front. This is less of a potential problem and easier with the metal grill than with cloth which is more likely to give or get stretched when picked up from the front. A small point but a very practical consideration with the Four 10, although less so for the other cabs in the range which might get picked up differently.
On a side note the Four 10 was way easier to lift than the 212 AV, being 3" shallower makes a huge difference. And 13 pounds lighter. Count me one happy camper.

BB2 Arrived today.
Seems like a keeper! A bit bigger than I thought but still lightweight and the handle is in a good balanced and ergonomical spot.
Going to test it on a gig this friday, gonna be good!

He guys if anyone is interested I'm looking to sell my Super Twin (black grill, BF cover) as well as my Super Compact (silver grill, BF cover). I just thought I'd post it here before I list them. Send me a PM if you might be interested. I have someone coming by tomorrow to take a look at the Super Twin. If it doesn't work out, I'll list them.
Just received my second Super Compact OMG is this pair of SCs loud! I won't get a chance to gig the pair with my 80s rock group until June, but I will have a chance to play the new one at some rehearsals and a couple smaller gigs with my originals band. With a single SC I was loud enough onstage indoors, but outdoors I was always wondering if I would have enough to keep up. Turns out I always did, but I think I was on the edge a couple times. Now, with the pair, I'll have more than enough no matter what the situation
This rig delivers everything I could ask for. I love my tone and dare I say, I may be GAS free for awhile

Hi BigEarl. Fabulous cabs. Bottom to Africa. I have to turn the bass back to about 10 o'clock. I play upright in several bands covering a bucket load of genres. Works for all of them. I have yet to play an indoor gig where I need PA support. Dispersion is fantastic, I can hear myself even standing right over the cab(s). I mostly only need one cab, but I like to show off by having two!
