The One10 is a wonder, but I doubt it will give you lows of your Subway 15 (a cab I have not heard).....it won't even give you lows of a Subway 12 (a cab I used to own). It will give you a ridonculously small cab that can truly handle a coupla hundred watts and will handle some low end eq pushed into it, producing an old school (paper cone distortion) mid-mid punchy sound. I can use one in a trio with "mature" rock drums in a small setting, and my pair is about as loud as an "average 310", if you know what I mean. On another note, I suspect the practical difference in weight and bulk between the SC and Subway 115 may be more than you think.

Another thing to keep in mind that BF 10" have ferrite magnets whereas BF 12" are neodinium. I still wonder how could they make a cab with ferrite magnets so light but it definately counts tone-wise. I don't usually like neodinium magnets...

I can't say it's the neodymium vs ferrite... but over the years I've come to the conclusion that the cabs I like best they seem to always have ferrite magnets. It could be coincidence as my sample is not exactly statistically significant, but that's how it is.

Speaking of light ferrite cabs... The TKS S112 are pretty cool. They're smaller than most 112, but also incredibly light, so although they do not have deep lows or enormous handling power, they are pretty sweet. I particularly love its tight low end and how well they respond to a tiny bass boost. They have a very pleasant sound whatever I do to them.
I arrived to them after a few years of Barefaced (Compact & and pair of BB2). The sheer volume wasn't there, but I liked them a lot better tonally. The low end never got crazy, and they just sounded nice, punchy, lovely with either the Stingray or a Precision... the only thing was that using a pair of them sometimes I wanted a little bit more volume. But I was happy with the ultra light weight (10Kg or less each cab? with a very manageable size) and sound.

Then I tried the Two10... and I was in love. I still think the S112 are a tiny bit nicer... but the Two10 sounds very much in the same ballpark (minor EQ tweaks) and it gets louder and I'm not worried about killing it as easily as I could kill the speakers in the S112s. The low end is great, it's there if you wanted, but it's tight and very controllable.
I kept the TKS (mostly just my home practice rig now ) but I'm going to get a second Two10 for this summer's gig season. I still need just one most times (PA support), but I know with two I'll be fine for 100% of the gigs I play... and they still fit in the boot of my small Audi A3... You know, sometimes I wish I were younger so that I could have been out there in the 70s and 80s... but when I think about being the bassist in a busy band without any roadies, I change my mind . We've got it so easy these days.

I wonder if someone can describe the tonal difference between a Big Twin II and a Berg HDN 212? Why buy one over the other?

Funny - I am wondering the exact same thing. I can source a Berg locally so I kind of know how it sounds - but really you never know until you are in a band situation. Maybe one of us should post a thread/poll?

Anyone here put these head-to-head?

Not an HDN, but I had a CN212 before my pair of BB2's.

The BB2's are louder, have more low end and better low end extension, and a more even tone in the mids.
The CN212 has a better tweeter IMO. It was never harsh (even with distortion) and the transition from speaker to tweeter was seamless.

The CN212 was a GREAT cabinet.
The BB2's (or a BT2) essentially sound like a PA with a sub.

Other than push it back in, I'm not sure. BF cabs are built like tanks except for the strap screw covers. I'm surprised Alex hasn't come up with a better handle to use in his cabs.

I see. Already tried to push it back but it's coming off again. Dissapointing how the builder of such good and expensive cabs can't sort out this minor issue.

I mean if you pay twice the price of average market cab, this thing MUST be flawless, right? And if you have the same issue with two of total three BF cabs you ordered new, it starts to be annoying.

I think it's pretty minor for a great piece of it.
It's like saying Cindy Crawford looks like a Haggered old Crone because she has a rabbit poo mole on her face, when we all know she is pretty phenomenal

So how would you fix that?

First I'd let Alex at BFB know that it's a problem. See what he says.

Second, it looks like there's a small crimp in the metal that's supposed to catch on the edge of the anchor piece that isn't catching. Possible rebend it.

Lastly, possibly get some of that two-part epoxy putty, make a small ball, insert it between the two pieces and then close them. Let harden over night. Be sure to Scuff the underside of the top piece.

Or possibly drill through the top piece and use a screw/washer to anchor it.

I know, I know, I am just spoiled Speaking about the cab itself, I think it is my end game. Awesome tone and the power capacity for such a size is just unbelievable. I've spent a bit longer with it today and must say it is very versatile. And I really like it with tweeter just a bit on, around 15%. Or completely off.

I think that's one area of his cabs that needs improvement.

IMHO the handles flat out suck, and the finishes are also suboptimal. I agree that at this price point, the finishes lack. My cabs are amazing, but compared to the finish on the Bergs (I used to own a CN210), they lag, big time. Juss sayin'.
