In the pocket n' thumpy. So woody, so greasy...
You know, it's true. At some point Alex is going to get bored and WANT to design something new. (Ahem, built-in beer cooler.)
But seriously, the next leap in innovation should be getting a nice something-hundred watt tube amp narrow enough to not look ridiculous on the top of a modern super cab. The Two10 is 15" wide standing on end, so that's a good target. The Ampeg PF-50t is 14", but underpowered for most. My Mesa Prodigy is 16", so close.
I'm looking at you, Fender. I hope y'all got your mad scientists trying to turn the 100t into something half as big.

Now that I think about it.....completely contradicting my last post.....a powered Big twin would help me make the leap from my berg ip.....

I mean....he could use the same power module he's using in the new sub. 1200 watts continuous. I'm cool with that. My berg is pushing 1000 watts

But, the 100T fits perfectly on top of the Two10 when it's sitting horizontal. Like a glove. And it's a thing of beauty.
I only wish my Two10 had a cloth grill. Then it'd be perfect.

My Fender Super Bassman 300 fits perfectly on top of my Four10, which has a cloth grill. It, too, is a thing of beauty. Before I got the SB, I considered the 100T, but decided that for the extra $300 I would triple the power, because, you know, WATTS! I somewhat sheepishly admit to buying the SB on installment payments. Down to about $300 now, $37/mo is pretty painless.

Nice. I would've gone 300T but I'd have been about $1500 CDN short. ( got my 100 used for a Really good deal so it wasn't a financial option at the time). But I haven't ruled out going for the big dog in the future.
I have a Mo' 700 too so I'm doing ok for now. Lol. But more power toobz keep calling my name.
The Two10 is a really good cab for the 100T imo.
I bet the 100T and Two10 sounds very much like my setup, which I think sounds sweet. Really, in retrospect, the 100T would have been more than equal to my typical uses, and while most TBers with experience with the 100T said the same, those few voices who said "maybe not" kept nagging at me. I did make an offer on a used 100T before going SB, because, as with you, a good deal on a used 100T would have been better than an SB at near-retail (although actually I got a respectable deal); but it didn't happen. So, I am "stuck" with this.
I actually came up with a little bit of extra BF cloth because I planned to re-do the SB front to match the Four10, but in the end, I decided maybe I'd better not, in case I want to sell the SB down the line. The color's a little different, but I think it looks fine in stack form.
I miss having the tone of my Mesa Buster, but I'm okay with the Microtoobz of my recently acquired DG 900w amp. Easier to move, and no overhang issues

I had a very loud and drunken band practice last weekend with my Orange AD200 into the Four 10, much louder than usual. Guitarist was cranking his Marshall stack and I expected to be told the next day to bring it down a bit in future, so I went back and offered to do so. I was told my tone was pure gold and to touch nothing, the drummer could bring it down! Such is the power of the Four 10 with tubes. I usually take a V4B to practice which is great, but the little bit of fur with the Orange and a jazz bass was much fun. The Four 10 handled the cranked Orange with aplomb.
Jam session scheduled Tuesday. First outting with the BB2 and Darkglass 900. Also, a first outting for the Ric 4003. Fingers crossed.
I have always kinda wanted a Ric. It's native sound isn't really my native sound, especially since I've never owned one, but growing up in the 70's and 80's, man, there was something about a Ric... that I could never afford back then.
The Ric has more sounds than just the Ric sound. But it also is very much a Ric.
Upright jazz gig earlier today, the Super Midget continues to sound amazing...I'm blown away how great it sounds with the Aguilar AG700 head.
...it is funny that for cover songs I can't figure a bass tone, often times the Ric works, and you have that light-bulb recognition.
