Great philosophy to have Alex. Really winds me up if I buy something, and then a few weeks later it becomes the old model!
In case anyone is interested, I am about the list the "trial Super Midget" for sale. I recently bought it from Alex and, although it is a great cab, I really like the steel grill look better...which is silly, but that's the way I am. This cabinet is in mint condition, and has an upgraded black fabric grill with white piping, and also has a "top hat" in the bottom in case you want to mount it on a speaker stand. I will likely have to take a loss on this purchase, but it is what it is. PM me if interested...I will be posting in the classifieds later today.
I was lucky enough to pick this beauty up, can't wait to join the club!!
Could someone direct me to the Meinl canjon case that fits this? It didn't look like the measurements were making sense when I checked them out last night

Officially completed my transition from 10's to 12's. Both are different versions of awesome but I am thinking I made the right decision. The 12's along with the D800+ create the EXACT sound I have been looking for!

My Six10 shipped last Wednesday, got the call from FedEx Friday to pay gst and clearance fees. FedEx mistook the British £ symbol for a "1" adding £10,000 to the value of the shipment. After a lengthy conversation about what a £ symbol is with the customs broker, he has re-submitted the clearance to Customs, which according to FedEx, will add another 4 - 5 day's to the clearance process.
Awesome. Those guys will have a heck of a company, once they get through the growing pains and iron out some little wrinkles

Recently a couple of Two10's came up in the classifieds and I've been checking them out on gigs. After 2 months I'm on the fence but think I slightly prefer the SC's. Now both the drummer and guitarist in the band are telling me they prefer the sound of the Two10's. They say tighter, punchier and clearer. These guys have good ears and I value their opinions. Now I want to understand what they are hearing.

I've asked this question because the BB800 is kind of a unique amp with minimalist approach and flat EQ. I doubt a guy who bought an amp like that would match it with a cab that colour the sound a lot, right? I don't know anything about these cabs, I'm just curious about how they're EQd.
Do they work well together by the way?

Yup, Four10 and Two10. Love the combo!
Good questions! And I need to also explain my setup to better understand.
But yes, in general (or at least the Super Compact) is a pretty neutral sounding cabinet. I also have GK cabs which are much more low mid scooped and brittle in the high mids. And I also have Mesa Subway cabs which are thicker and deeper sounding overall and a bit clearer in the mids.
As far as the Quilter amp...it's also pretty neutral with minimal controls. My other amp is a Mesa Subway D800 which overall is a thicker, deeper sounding amp with a bit more slam in the bottom end. So why do I run the Quilter? Because it's smaller and fits in my bag better, and I run it to save wear and tear on my Mesa. The trick is...I never run the Quilter without the Mesa Subway DI pedal going into it. Feeding the Mesa preamp into the Quilter amp is fantastic, as you get the voicing of the Mesa with a couple of extra controls of the Quilter. I generally won't use the Quilter by itself because of the limited controls, but they are surprisingly versatile. But for instance you can't cut mids AND roll off highs...it's either/or. But running a good preamp into the Quilter is a win.
