This is what I've been using a lot lately. I could use a second Super Compact on top though, for max headroom.
No fake relicing on this '72 P with '65 neck.

I've seen quite a few posts on the last few pages with Super Compacts and it got me thinking. Lately I've been running my BB2's with the crossover control set to its highest setting, which kind of turns it into an SC (sort of, I'm guessing there's still more low bass in a BB2 set this way, plus it also has a mid/high driver that will still carry the very highest frequencies that an SC can't).
It's safe to say I won't do this forever because I periodically tweak things just to do something different. But, for now, I'm liking the results with both of my heads (GK MB800 and Mesa D800). But it also got me wondering - how many BB2 owners set the crossover point to its highest setting so the cabinet has a more old school, smoothly-roll-off-most-of-the-high-end sound? Is that your preferred setting or is that just an occasional thing and you prefer to set the crossover control to get as much as you can out of the mid/high driver?

I don't have BB2 but I always use my SM with the crossover at the highest point (no signal to tweeter)
I have an SC and a BB2 and yes, the BB2 has quite a bit more low end.
I usually run my BB2 with highs off, kind of as a sub for the SC. Occasionally I'll bring in some highs in a dense mix just to have more attack.
Alex should open up a shop here in the states. They would sell like hotcakes. Plus we could avoid having to pay the duty.We need more Barefaced here in the states, says I
At my gig Friday night some fellow musicians came out to see the band. One guy is a bass player, who has lately been playing keys in a duo with a female singer.
He has decided he wants to go back to playing in a band and is looking for new equipment. He hasn't played in a 5 piece band in awhile, so his rig is a bit outdated and heavy.
He heard my rig and said he really liked my bass tone coming through the subs. However,......I don't typically run my bass through the subs. (Unless it's an outside gig) I use my Mesa D800+ through two Barefaced BB2's and use stage volume.
He was stunned. He couldn't believe the overall tone and specifically the thunderous bottom I was getting from the BB2's. Then I told him that each cab only weighed 27 pounds. I had to have him come up in stage to lift up the cab so he would believe me. He immediately took down the address to the Barefaced website.
Looks like Alex will have a new customer.

Yup... I've said many times before, using the BB2 (much less TWO of them) sounds like you have PA support for the bass, when you don't. It's that warm and enveloping in the audience in all parts of the room.

No. You would have to pay the duty. And the further mark-up to pay for running the shop (so that's the cost of employing at least one person to run the shop, plus the rent and the other business overheads). And as the USA is geographically HUGE most people wouldn't be close enough to benefit from having a US outlet. And we sell over 10 models, each with at least two variants, plus customisations, so it would need to hold a lot of stock. And to bring the shipping cost down to make up for then paying local freight around the USA, we'd need to ship more like a container of cabs.
Believe me, we've thought about this a lot! Us selling direct from the UK is the most affordable way for people to get hold of our cabs, by far.
Open a shop in Rome, Italy. You can use my home of course. I'll leave you my keys, two dogs and a bearded dragon. I leave home early in the morning and come back around dinner time.

I've got a Super Compact that I'd like to offer up to the members of this thread before I go the classifieds route. It's got a cover from RoqSolid in the UK and it will ship in the original box from Barefaced. It's been a great cab but I'm digging the sound of my Two10 and One10 more so it's time to move the SC to someone who will use it. PM if you're interested.
