But it also got me wondering - how many BB2 owners set the crossover point to its highest setting so the cabinet has a more old school, smoothly-roll-off-most-of-the-high-end sound? Is that your preferred setting or is that just an occasional thing and you prefer to set the crossover control to get as much as you can out of the mid/high driver?

So to do that, you turn the knob all the way to the right? Or is it to the left? I'm still confused on the attenuators.

Waiting to get my own BF and burning holes in the manual...
Heres the manual Pg on CO, looks like 11oclock is "modern" HF on, and turning CW to 8oclock is progressively "old school" HF off.

I must confess. I hate how the speakons and HF control are sideways. They're not intuitive to me at all.

I've been using these cabs for almost 3 years now and I STILL mess up plugging in every.single.time...and when making any change to the horn I need to listen to what it's doing (not always possible) when I'd much rather just think about knob position at this point.

Yeah, the speakon connectors still get me most nights too; Thankfully, I never adjust the tweeter.

It's neither a volume control nor a cut/boost control. So "halfway" doesn't mean "half volume" nor "flat".

In the case of the BT2 and BB2, "halfway" means, assuming linear controls, that the crossover point is set to ~6KHz. "Wide open" (left-most CCW position) means crossover is around 2KHz. And "closed" (right-most CW position) means the crossover is at ~10KHz.

Beyond liking the fact that the crossover value increases as I turn the knob from left to right, I guess I just don't have a deeply-ingrained knob position preference for these kinds of values. There's nothing particular about "6KHz" that says "noon" to me.

I'm a little OCD.

I'm not talking about 12:00 = X.
It's more that the control is "off" by 25%, meaning what is normally a 12:00 position is really at 3:00.

If I put the cab horizontal rather than vertical it's basically a non issue, but I'd say most use them in the vertical position. I don't find how it functions as intuitive as other controls of similar form/function.

If I remember correctly, you can pull the knob off and position it however you want on the pot.

guess that depends on cab orientation (horizontal or vert) .. but I hear you. I was thinking in terms of knob direction points to where the highs are going. but I like the faucet image best!

edit: :roflmao:LOL , on second thought would anyone ever run the the big cabs horizontal? HAH lets stick with the faucet image!

In terms of volume and power punch, how would you compare the two10 and the SC?
