Just ordered a Two 10s to sit on top of my Four 10. Makes things easier as connecting two One 10s in series worked but was a little clumsy and also not quite as deep as the Four 10. I will keep a single One 10 for practice at home and I think @Marty Forrer will buy the other One 10. Seriously considered getting a Six 10 and keeping the two One 10s but there seemed little real point. My practical options will then be One 10, Two 10, Three 10, Four 10, and Six 10. Can't figure out the ohms on Five 10 and Seven 10 but I would never use it anyway. This is in part motivated by having had to carry my Bergantino NV215 up some stairs recently. Love Barefaced.

For anyone like me who's been curious about combining barefaced 10s and 12s, I have good news from testing yesterday. This was a large rehearsal space, full stage setup and their website says it's a 1700 sq ft room. Drums weren't mic'd but competing with 2 Marshall half stacks and a keyboardist.

First I tried a One10 with the Two10s. Sounded great no matter where I stood in the room. I probably should've pushed it more or bumped the bass a little, it was just a touch thin to my liking.

Then I put the Two10s on top of the BB2 for the second half of practice. I'm not joking, 3 notes in of playing and heard everything I've been looking for. Full, rich and punchy without touching any EQ the rest of the practice. Even my bandmates commented how good it sounded after the switch. The room felt so much more balanced and full walking around with my wireless. This room is piled up with equipment so it's not empty by any means. (Basically part storage space for their backline gear) Definently found my setup for an outdoor gig coming up.

That's great but it doesn't guarantee it'll work for everyone else - or that it'll work as well when cranked up louder outside. As I've said many times, combining different speakers is unpredictable and the result will vary depending on many variables. Anecdotal evidence is just anecdotal evidence.

It would be much more profitable in the short term to tell everyone who owns a 12XN cab that emails asking about adding a One10 to say "yes, it'll be brilliant!" but that's simply not true. It sometimes works well, it sometimes doesn't.

And one thing I can always guarantee is that it will sound less focused, less precise, less coherent with a mix of drivers - often that doesn't matter for bass sounds, many want the opposite, but if you want that accuracy of response then mixed drivers never helps.

I certainly appreciate your expertise Alex, especially since I emailed you prior and you said to simply try it and see how it goes since your 10s and 12s were not designed to work together. It certainly works for me and we'll see how it performs in a different environment as well so the YMMV line certainly applies. Coming for a Berg setup of HDN112/210 combo which works really well together to something similar with Barefaced is great for me since I prefer the tone of any of my Barefaced cabs as the volume goes up compared to any other cab. If money was no object of course I could look at adding a SM or another Two10s but this is what I have right now and I happy to know it works well for my needs.

It's good that it worked for you in that context. I just don't want to spend my time fielding emails from people saying "I read that a Two10S plus a Big Baby 2 is THE BEST TONE EVER" because it happened to work really well for one person in one place at one time! ;-)

The 610 is gonna slam. With my 2 four10's I'm told to turn down often. I'm almost tempted to trade one if my four10's for a two10.

Thanks Alex, you may remember I bought one of the first Four 10 cabs three years ago (I am in New Zealand) and have never looked back since. Once the Two 10s arrives I will be having a cleanout of my other brand cabs, can't really imagine using anything else now. It has been a pleasure being a small part of watching such a wonderful product develop as it has, personal customer service being a huge part of it. Good luck with the guitar cabs, the bass amp has me excited.

I've bought Tim1's spare One10 to match the two I already have. This will give me a 3x10 stack and a 2.67ohm load, which my Genzler amp is designed for. Looking forward to being able to crank this thing!

How do you like the single One10 with the Quilter?

Very efficient. I'd say the loudest among the smallest. Very focused low mids, you won't get that ooomth in the lows but it can cut through with the moderate drummer and a guitar when used as a stage monitor on stage or at rehearsal. Quilter doesn't seem to overpower One10 if used with fairly clean signal. My setting on Quilter is gain at 7th mark (2 o'clock) and master anything from 160 to 400 Watts. I owned SM before and Quilter worked very well with it too, cleaner tone and more highs and headroom with SM. I just prefer BF 10" speakers inherent tone.
