That's not in the picture? You have even more Barefaced cabs then on the photo?!
I use a BTII with my double bass, the transparent sound of this cab is great.

Whoops, sorry! I've played double bass with both and they're both pretty amazing. Haven't tried it with the 610 yet though.That's not in the picture? You have even more Barefaced cabs then on the photo?!

Most of the time the BTII is bit overkill, but i rather have headroom to spare, then not hearing myself onstage.
The 610 might give a more vintage sound?

You can't go much smaller than that - and the combination sounds really good (I have both a One10 cab and Elf head, also). That's a rig that deserves to be shown off in the Mini Rigs of Doom thread.

Great combination aren't they, almost made for each other. I'm looking forward to the day some clever bloke creates a tiny class D amp that sounds as warm as a tube amp and then the Barefaced 10s and a P bass with flats will sound like Barry White's voice...but until then, I will stick with what I have. Might add another one10 or a two10 should I need to later.

i finally caved to gas pressure and got an elf too! it has some quirks, but im actually very impressed. i justified the purchase because i'm sheltering with my girlfriend in her apartment and i dont have an amp with a headphone output. but ive actually had the chance to use it live. live music?!?! some neighbors and i have been doing a weekly front yard impromptu cover jam. we all stand a fair bit apart and the neighborhood has come out with their masks on and people have been loving it and dancing in the streets!

Lovely! I got the steel grill because I don't want a foot going through the speaker but the cloth grills do look nice.
If I started playing in my front yard the neighbours would start throwing things at me. Still, here in the UK we have a lockdown thing, at 8:00 pm on Thursday evening we all hang out our windows or stand in the front garden and clap (or bang saucepan lids) for the NHS, which is the UK's national health care system. Maybe this Thursday I'll play the bass instead of clapping.
By the way, be careful about leaving your Fender J out in the front yard, someone has stolen the pick guard.
I use that micro combo as well, works great-- Elf and One10 with cloth grill. Very handy both at home and in small venues.
I did the same with mine - all steel grills. Funny that when I posted that a few years ago, Alex kind of chided me because he felt that the cloth grills were stretched so tight ("as a trampoline", as he put it) that they protect as well as the steel grills. Maybe so. But, although I absolutely think the cloth grill covers look MUCH better, I still feel better about the steel grills and am happy I got them on all my Barefaced cabs.
Man, I couldn't agree more about getting the steel grills. Having played in bar bands for nearly 50 years, I can tell you that some of those load ins and especially some of those load outs, got pretty rough on the gear, not to mention everybody scooting around on a super small stage, constantly bumping into stuff.
Having said that, I do like how black grill cloth looks with white piping around the edge. Sweet indeed.
Steel grills, they add weight but offer peace of mind, like insurance.
Yes but if you bash into a steel grill you can leave a permanent dent whereas the nice taut cloth ones just bounce back.
Grill does not make the sound. I would rather damage my grill than the speaker behind the grill...
Or, one could learn to play well and have the audience stop throwing stuff at you and your amp
