Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

According to the recent production update, my BT3 should be underway. I fear my One10T is awaiting a tweeter.
My order doesn’t have Tweeters but it looks like I’m a month out at least from receiving mine. Which is fine. Have a gig at the end of the month but I can make do. I’ve sold these cabs pretty hard so every practice everyone is asking when they are going to arrive. It’s like I told them I have a supermodel girlfriend in Canada or something…

I sold all my cabs to buy the Barefaced. I've been playing with a single 15 that I picked up for cheap, but I can't wait to get my Barefaced cabs. Been waiting since late July early August.

Hey guys,

I just purchased a used Big Baby 2, but have now seen a Super Twin come up for sale for only $250 more. I was planning to buy another BB2 or Super Compact when the opportunity arose, but that would set me back over $1k...

My band plays loud heavy rock so I'm a bit concerned the single BB2 won't cut it. Do you recommend cancelling the order and getting the ST? I initially discounted it as an option due to the lack of a tweeter.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Yeah, I'd go super twin instead of a one driver cab!
Now there's also a decent deal on a Super Compact! :D:D

Would it be better to get the Super Twin, rather than the BB2 & SC? Is there any way of telling whether the SC is gen 3 (the seller doesn't know)? Also, has anyone stacked a BB2 on top of a SC as they are different depths?

Sorry for all the questions :hyper:

I started out with a used SuperTwin and then ordered a new BB2 to go with it. The SuperTwin is a much louder and fuller sounding cabinet than the BB2. The BB2 is a loud cabinet but one speaker, IMO, is not adequate if you play in a loud rock band. I also prefer to get volume from adding speakers instead of turning a single one way up, the same dB level from multiple drivers sounds fuller and less forced to me and I also like to have at least one speaker closer to ear level, especially on a stage where I stand close to my rig. I can't hear one speaker firing into my lower legs very well. Adding the BB2 to my SuperTwin also gave the rig a bit of "air" and presence due to the tweeter and the low end on the BB2 is slightly more extended and deeper. I have not had the opportunity to try two stacked BB2s so I can't offer a comparison but that is another option. Even though they do not match exactly the Gen 3 BB2 stacks well on the Gen 3 SuperTwin.
The back plate on the Super Compact should indicate whether it is Gen 3, at least it does on the BB2 and SuperTwin. Good luck with your choices!

imho SuperTwin for the win. I have been removed from the PA playing for 500 people outdoors. Astounding. An easy move and takes EQ great. I have not played a BB2 but I would imagine 2 of the same twelves at 4 ohms will dwarf 1 BB2...imHO

Thanks for the advice!

Do you find yourself lacking in *sparkle* with the lack of tweeter option on the SuperTwin?

I suppose it's more about cost at this point, since I'd get almost the same result... Either the BB2 and another BB2/SC, or just the ST...

For me sounds perfect. I play a PBass with flats and I get the punch, growl and clarity I need. The high end extends higher than the specs lead you to believe imho. I also play a 5 string (flats) with a pick and its not lacking huge lowend and clarify. I dont slap etc so not sure how if fairs in that world.

Thanks for your input - I'd be curious to hear from those who do slap since I tend to incorporate a lot of it.

The 212 is 4 ohms so you'll be getting more out of your amp, and 2 12's will always be much louder than 1 12.

Yeah, the plan would be to either get another BB2/SC, or return the BB2 and get the ST - do you guys find lifting it difficult with the suitcase handles? They look like they'd dig in some... I understand the new versions have traditional recessed bar handles

I have two BB2 cabs. I typically use one, which can provide a lot of volume. But, if I need more volume I use them both for the same reason Stephen mentioned, more presence from multiple cabs rather than pushing a single cab.

Sure  I'm just trying to decide whether to keep the BB2 order (with a plan to get a 2nd at some point) equating to roughly $1000, or to get a SuperTwin instead for $750

If you have a BB2 within the return period, Why isn't it a BB3?
