Since there's no more Dubster, I think I've got it narrowed down to either a Super Twin (have never tried the 12 series though), a Six10 (might be overkill), or (2) Two10S cabs. Really like the sound of 10series. Tough when considering capability/practicality/storage.

I use a couple of Two10 with a Mesa D800+ for reggae/ska and I haven't found them lacking at all. I would probably be fine with a Two10 + One10 too. It depends on what you're expected to cover I suppose. I play small rooms without PA support without trouble, but I'd generally expect to put the bass through the PA for anything at serious volume anyway.

How are you liking your D-800+?
I'm in the process of rebuilding my rig, and have to choose between the WD-800, or the D-800+.
Really like the WD-800, but have never personally tried the D-800+

Old building? That looks remarkbly like the Russel industrial center, a 4minute walk from my home. What was the gig if I may ask?

Numerous people told us this was the best we've ever sounded. And it was the first time I had a soundguy actually be stoked when I told him I had dual (wet/dry) signals.

The venue was an old building in Detroit with very high ceilings. The acoustics of a space like that might be challenging but having pair of super twins behind me made it so I could hear myself as clearly as at rehearsal. Honestly I could get by with just one ST… but, more is more.

I love it. I've had it for 4-5 years now and I don't think I'll be looking at another amp in a while.

While I play mostly reggae/ska/funk, I sometimes play with other bands covering other styles too and the combination D800+ plus the Two10 cabs works very well for everything. The voicing control sets the general flavour and it's very versatile, but the adjustable HPF in conjunction with the bass EQ control is its 'secret weapon' in my opinion, which allows me to get a fat low end without getting boomy and losing definition.

I never tried the WD800 myself. I've sometimes been tempted to try it and a TT800, but they're hard to find, and I'd find it difficult to justify the expense. The damping control on the WD800 seems pretty cool. I used to play a MusicMan amp that had a similar control and I really liked what it did... but in the end I find the D800+ is a very good combination of sound, features and size, for what I play, when paired with the Two10 cabs.

I agree about the adjustable HPF and some bass boost, though I often do it by turning on the Deep switch instead of boosting Bass (similar effect). Making the lows and low mids fuller while reducing the level of the indistinct and boomy lowest frequencies can give you a nicely boosted low end that remains clear.

The adjustable HPF is a great feature and a big part of the reason I bought the D800+. I do sometimes get tempted to try a WD800 or TT800, but the feature set on the D800+ seems ideal for my needs, so I've stuck with that one.

Sounds like either one will pair nicely with Barefaced cabs. Going to audition both amps this weekend, then it'll be time to figure out cab configuration.

I played a show last night, first time using PF-50T with 2 vertical BF 210s.

The sound guy was a bass player, ran the DI through the transformer out. I'm not sure how much he used out front but he said the sound was great.

The bass player from the opening band was very interested in the setup, he was very complimentary as well.

The capacity of the club is prolly 200-300, and outside. I brought my D800+ along just in case, but had no problem through the PF-50T, and I think it probably carried the gig.

My band is a 6 piece country band with steel, acoustic guitar, tele, bari, bass and drums (5 last night, our baritone player is in Woodstock jamming with crafty guitarists and stickists right now).

I really liked the sound and feel, and I want to get an HPF/LPF to see how that interacts on this head. I'm spoiled with the D800+ in this regard, and am hesitant to call the PF-50T a full replacement yet, but a really nice option that could become the go-to in certain situations.

Interesting. Most places we play we get wedged into a small space and having a two-bass stand takes up a lot of space. I like your idea but wonder how easily I could get it off without damaging the cabinets.

So…full disclosure…they work perfectly, but…

The HD tape comes off without any issue.
The coating on the cabs assures that. Funny you ask though, the humidity while at sea allowed the one holding the Spector NS-2 to come off, tape and all.
I'm going to clean the area with denatured alcohol (the same stuff I clean all my strings with) before reapplying.

I just noticed, if you look closely at the one on the right (the Spector) it's already starting to separate. . ✌
