Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

Firstly, your amps do not have seperate outputs, just one output with 2 parallel jacks.

Q1 So with both cabs you are running a 4 ohm load. Doesn't matter if you use 2 jacks or 1 jack on the amp, still 4 ohms. No difference.

Q2 I would not recommend doing. This will give you 2.7 ohms and even though your Genzler may run it, I don't think it's something that Barefaced recommends because of the phase cancellations of the different drivers. Run either the 2 12's together, or the Six10. Do not mix.

Your EA amp will not run below 4 ohms at all.
Thank you.
So now I can tell my wife I need a splitter and two MG800s along with two more BB3s.

Instead of multiple heads, why not get a pa poweramp? I've ran the crown xls-1502 bridged into a set of bb3s (1550 watts). Grab the xls-2502 and run up to eight (2ohns/channel) . Hopefully you don't need that kinda fire power. Any situation that needs more than my tt-800 and 2 bb3's, I'd assume I'd have foh support + good monitoring or iems.

if I read this correctly I should just get a wall of amps and 16 BB3s on top of 8 Six10Ts? Sorry, I can't read what I can wish!

Okay game on!
Testing and comparing with the AT212 this evening using my D800+ :woot:

EDIT: I've only spent about 45 minutes doing some side-by-side comparisons with the two thus far… I played some solo stuff (percussive type of playing) and then played along with some of the typical rock songs I would play in one of my bands to get an idea of the pros/cons of each…Granted, the GR has a tweeter, but to my ears… all of the articulation and ghost notes of my percussive playing really shine through with the GR. Digging in, I still get a nice grind with the bass tone, but the ghost notes really just pop and sing on the GR cab. The BF is warm and punchy, so it's clear to me why so many folks like them, and can see why they claim you can replace an 8x10 with a Super Twin with 212s

I did not tweak the EQ settings between the two. I just left them at my normal playing settings, so I'll have to do some tweaking of the EQ tomorrow and some additional testing. I like them both but I think I'm more accustomed to hearing the punchy articulation of the GR at this point.

I saw that one pop up in OH and thought of you!

FWIW I think the Big Twin would be a better comparison to the GR

Hi All,
I received my Barefaced BB3 several months back. They are coated in a polymer paint, not covered in Tolex. The cabinet had a pretty strong odor for the first few weeks but eventually dissipated. I love the cab but I notice that the surface of the cabinet is a bit sticky; every time I move my head, it sticks to the surface. I also noticed that if you look closely, there is a lot of surface dust stuck to the cab rather like flies to fly paper given the stickiness.

Any thoughts?

I wonder if it takes a few months to kind of off-gas and harden up (cure?) a bit? I bought a used Two10S and I can't leave my amp on it continuously or the feet on the amp will react slightly with the paint and cause marks. It's not a big deal to me, but I don't want any more marks on it.

I have never had that. I'd email Barefaced and tell them about it.

I've written to them. They said they weren't aware of there being any odor, and seemed somewhat surprised about the soft/sticky finish. I had a chip on the front and received some of the coating as a touch up kit last week. I can 100% say that the odor is the coating itself.

I wonder if Barefaced got a bad batch or out of date coating material and it just won't fully cure?

This is concerning. I just ordered two One10 cabs, one with a tweeter. Hopefully no issues. I hope you get this resolved.

The One10 cabs are covered in Tolex so this shouldn't be an issue on yours. I believe some people had issues with the Tolex adhesive and the seems at the back had some degree of peeling as they aged. I haven't seen this mentioned in a while so I assume it's been addressed.

Thanks for the information. Very excited to shake windows and peel paint upon arrival.

New stack day. Someone in San Diego was offloading some 12's so I picked up a Super Midget to pair with my BB2g3. I was SHOCKED to hear what one driver vs two sounded like. Thicccc. Can't decide on which orientation I like better. Feel free to chime in with opinions. Love this barefaced gear to death. View attachment 5166634View attachment 5166633
I vote sideways

I'm 1.5hrs from San Diego, if you ever want to get rid of one ;)
