I'm wondering why it's changed hands so many times. I'm the 4th guy to have it in the last 12 months, and at least the 5th overall. I saw the thread where you bought it, and I asked the guy who sold it to you if he was the original owner, and he wasn't.

Anyways, I plan on keeping it for a while!

There's nothing wrong with it as far as I could tell. I sold it because it was the bass I gigged with the least and I needed the money, and the guy I sold it to turned it right around cuz he just wasn't in love with it. It's a great bass. I'd buy another one.

I just ordered a new B40 in Blueburst with Black hardware. Has the same PU's as the SB4000 so it sounds great. Fell in love with one at the San Diego store. Pics when I get it.

thanks' , I know the official website. But unfortunatly Carvin is not " really available " in europe. There is only 2 dealers carvin in my country. ( Belgium)

So maybe there is different places to order a carvin in europe ( basses or kit), cause the prices reveived from a dealer here aren't attractive ( 1300 eur for a passiv b50 .... 1500 / 1600 $$$ :mad:)

I would like to have information from european owners ( where they found and how much they paid for a carvin bass)

hello everyone. i'm looking into getting an icon 5 and was curious about the RAD-J pickups with the icon preamp. i was looking at their tone chart for the standard SB pickups and the RAD-J and the RAD-J seems like it would be more fitting to me as i'm looking for a more "in your face" type of tone and i've read the SB's tend to be darker and maybe a bit more "polite" sounding. do any of you have any experiance with both?

Hello everybody,

I found this information about the kit.
For Belgium / benelux a B50 passiv kit = around 500 eur.

+ colour ( white or black) = around 595 eur.
Good price. I will purchase mine, and I will come back to you :hyper:

Had to call Carvin today. The preamp in my B5 has been burning through batteries at the rate of one a week even though it isnt plugged in. Talked to Albert in service and he said I probably need to replace the preamp. He got my address and said he would get one out right away since I'm still under warranty!

Hate that it died after a couple of years but ish happens. At least thier customer service is top notch!

Just got this LB60, probably an '86 I'm guessing. I had ordered a fretless from Carvin back in '95 or '96 and loved it but had to sell it shortly after. This one is in great shape for being over 25 yrs old. Plays and sounds like I had hoped. The neck isn't too thin and I'm able to get a huge range of sounds out of it for a passive bass.

LOVE the looks of that bass!!! Could you please post some sound samples?? ....or mail the bass to me, I'll post some sound samples and be lazy about getting it back to you... :)

From the bridge and pickups, I'm thinking it's an '87. (Check the features on the Bass ID Guide below if you are interested.) Cool bass regardless!
