This is the culprit that made me put my Fender Jazz Bass Deluxe into semi retirement! The first time I played a Sterling through a Walkabout in my local music store I was just floored. I bought this one second hand off of craigslist in mint condition. This is by far the nicest bass I've laid my hands on to date. I highly recommend you check one out...

Wow EastCoastEddie-I didn't know they still came with the mutes that late.
Right now, all I've got is a 2003 StingRay5 in Cherry Burst w/Black guard and maple board. I want....many more. Namely a Bongo 6 HH or HS in Blue Pearl or Candy Apple red, and then a variety of Ray5s in different pickup and fingerboard combinations.

I had a fretless in the same exact configuration (except for the pau ferro fingerboard ofcourse) that I bought about a year or 2 later and it had mutes as well. I wish I still had that one (as I kick myself in the ass).
its one of the first 2 BFR Sterlings. it was built for the NAMM show. You should be able to get one pretty soon
