Official Elrick Club Thread!

Ok. After searching through pages of Elrick threads here on TB, I came to the conclusion that there is no Elrick Club. There have been clubs for just about everything under the sun and I can't think of any reason why there shouldn't be a club for one of the best basses out there, that truly is "hand made". I have just ordered my first new Elrick and today marks the first day of my wait, March 1, 2008. I know that Rob will be out of the country for awhile, so hopefully the wait won't be too long.

Well here we go. Show us those basses and PM me for your numbers! I know I don't have my Elrick in hand but I do have the wood it will be built out of. Can you say highly flamed Swamp ash? Let's roll!

One of the nice things about ordering a custom from Rob is that unless an unusual circumstance arrises, they get done faster than most of the other top builders out there. 4-6 months wait is very doable.

Different strokes, I guess. The Classic style is the most comfy body I've ever played. I love Elricks, but I wish they were fanned :-(

Have you played the e-volution style before? It's pretty much the exact same as the Classic, except it has rounded body edges and a wider lower bout so it won't dig into your leg. "Rounded" is nearly always more comfy than "not rounded"

Certainly not the fanciest bass that will appear in this thread, but it's got an unusual pickup combination for an Elrick.

I bought this brand new for $900 a few years back. Sometimes eBay is a beautiful thing.

OK, I'm not really a "club" kind of guy, but I haven't posted photos of the Elrick I bought for Christmas. Best fretless I've ever owned.

The feature that "makes it" for me is the short distance between the lower body edge and G string with the Classic on my thigh when seated. It makes it less of a strain on my rt shoulder.
