My axes. The DF-404 is strung with a .130 B and the bass is tuned A#,F,A#,D#. It lived in a local guitar shop for several years. I played this bass many times over the years and last year finally pulled the trigger on it. I traded a Warwick Corvette STD Red Ash for it straight up. Since it had been abused a bit having lived as a demo model in a store, I took it to a local luthier. He dressed and leveled the frets and installed a bone nut. Sounds great, really ballsy tone with no mud. The B-304 was a real find. I saw it hanging in a pawn shop. I took it off the wall and plugged into a little amp the guy let me use. It sounded really crappy and buzzed a lot, but I noticed that the p'ups were active EMG 35DC or CS (turned out to be DC) and the preamp had balance, volumbe, treble, bass, and a stacked sweepable mid, an EMG BQS preamp!! The thing was loaded with over $500 in EMG goodness, and the best part is I ended up talking the guy down to $150. In the end all the bass needed was a proper setup and a fresh battery.

Can someone give me a good video of a B-104 in action? Perferrably a 2008 or new one. I'm really looking into buying it, and I really like low fat crunchy tones, and I've heard this is a good bass for that. I guess kind of a metal tone? But yeah, anyways...

Or any of the ESP LTD basses, I like the F series basses but I'm not sure how they sound. Again, if anyone could post a video of them playing that would be awesome and I'd love you.

For some reason the edit button isn't working, but here's the type of tone I'd like:

not a big fan of j bass bodies, and I don't have 1200 bucks.
don't like 5 strings either :X
