I did it myself. Drilling the holes was stressful, I was worried about chipping the Bubinga and getting the locations right, but I measured carefully and took my time and no problems. 18 solder joints later it was done. Sounds freaking awesome. I really like the tone of single coil on the neck and series on the bridge. Very big and growly.

Now both of have to keep our GAS in check. No good reason to upgrade...

Mine was B-Stock so it wasn't as expensive as normal. Plus I got it with 36 mo financing at Sweetwater.

I think I'm most amazed that it only weighs 9 lbs.

The models with Nordys always get my attention, dStar! Has anyone compared those Nordy pups with an LTD equipped w/ ESP or EMG pickups?

Mine came with ESP pickups, a world of difference there. The Nordy's are more present, articulate and growly. Plus having the parallel, single, series switches, open up a whole range of possibilities. With both in single coil mode, she sounds like a Jazz, with the neck in parallel and the bridge in single she sounds like PJ, solo the neck in parallel she's very P like and solo the bridge in series and you get a very passable Stingray tone. I'm still trying to figure out to get a Ricky tone out of her

Hey guys!! I've been curious about this topic for a while now but can a stock ESP preamp go through a 18v mod? Have any of you ever tried this on your B/D/F series stock 3 band EQs (Not the EMG ones)?
