Official ESP club

Best pic I could find of my ESP LTD F-204. Plays and sounds great.

Welcome to the club, guys! Haven't been around these parts for a while, which is sad, because I've been impersonating a drummer elsewhere ;)

Gah! I will be really happy if we can cross the magical 1000 posts mark, because I can then paste the entire list in the first thread and won't have to paste multiple times so someone can see it!

Hello forum. Thinking about getting my first ESP soon (and second bass) and was thinking about the D-5. All of the reviews are good, in fact it's almost overwhelming. Anyone have any comments/experiences?

The D-5 is a really nice instrument, a former bass player had it. For the price, the specs are killer. My only grouse about it is that it uses a species of wood that is possibly endangered (merbau). Sounded good to me when I heard/played it though.

Welcome abard, comannapaca!

When I got married back in '09 my first Christmas present from my wife was a LTD B208-FM.
8 string basses are a bit of a novelty but i played the heck out of it.

The problem is i could never achieve a decent amount of low action even when i play with a pick. Even with proper technique my fretting hand just hurt after a gig.

After a handful of professional setups (including heat pressing the neck) and my guitar tech even recommended me to get rid of the guitar as it wasn't gonna be any more or less playable, i have come to the conclusion that the bass is a lemon and i am going to have to take to the store where my wife bought it (is a ESP dealer) as the basses/guitars have a lifetime warranty.

She's a little upset about it, but what can you do??

Exactly, Staccato.

But I should be able to answer it myself shortly... (17mm Ltd Standard apparently)

I have this beauty on the truck for delivery today. It will be my first neckthrough and my 2nd Ltd.

I'm very anxious to hear the EMG 40P-5 and 40TW-5 in that maple-topped, mahogany body. I love P/J basses.

Weight is 9 lbs even.

Well, my first impressions are REALLY Good!!!!

I'm liking the pickups and tonal options a whole lot and it feels very well made.

I had to play with B string intonation a little, but it lined right up.

With about 1.5 hrs in, I'm really glad I bought this.

Bob

This might be a slight side-track to this thread, but for those of you who have an F-series ESP/LTD... I am curious about the bridge. I can't get any close pictures of them to determine if they are capable of either string-through-body or top-load? I really would love to have an F-155DX some day, but am partial to flat-wound strings. The flat-wounds need to be top-loaded. As well, what is the largest gauge (B-string) that you've put on your F-155DXs?

If this topic needs to move elsewhere, please let me know.
