Well, in the interest of honesty, I actually sold that one. See, a while back I bought it used for a decent price, and loved it. But I also didn't say anything to anyone other than my wife about buying it, because honestly I just wasn't interested in hearing about how I should be spending my money from other members of my family. But, at the same time my mom had seen some FB posts by me talking about how much I loved those basses and wished I could get one. So my birthday rolls around and my mom presents me with this one -

So, I sold the crazy spalted one without mentioning a word about it to the family and kept the one she gave me. On the one hand, I loved the spalting of that one better. But on the other hand, this one was a gift from mom. Eh, what do you do? :roflmao:

This one looks great too! It's more original too! There are probably not two spalted maple tops alike, but of all of those i've seen on the second hand market, this is the most original one! & it has a nice back-story! How do U feel about the pre-amp, i've seen loads of people were changing theirs. i don't know how to feel about this one yet...

I mean, to be honest once again ( :roflmao: ) I'm also a member of the "crappy bassist with expensive gear club" and the "mediocre bassists club". ;) I own this thing, but I have yet to actually figure out what I'm doing on it. So I'm really not one to chase tone with different pre-amps and such. To my mediocre ears it seems fine!
I run it through my little Digitech BP200 and into a Fender Rumble 150 and for the most part I run all my knobs at high noon and with a little boost to the low-mid knob on the Rumbler (probably about 2pm). So yeah, that works for me!

Haha don't worry i am no expert either. It's just what i've read here... It's sounds nice indeed, but maybe a bit weak, so every time i switch from my RMI Quantum to this one, i have to play quite a lot with knobs on the amp lol...

From left to right:
ESP LTD RB-1004 (Rocco Prestia signature)- Haven't played with this a lot yet, but will be doing a head to head video of this vs the Conklin Rocco Prestia siggy.
ESP LTD GB-4- I just reviewed this last week and I love this bass's slap tone. It's a very fun bass and a heck of a bargain!
ESP BB-1005 (Bunny Brunnel signature)- This is a fun one. Haven't reviewed this or given it a lot of play time yet, but it's a fun bass. She's a big girl tough, definitely a bit more cumbersome than some of my other basses.
Edwards by ESP HEJ-100 (Hitoki something or other signature)- I just got this back from my tech. It's a really interesting bass. Really cool tone and awesome finish. This thing is from the early 90's and there's not a lot of info on this bass. I'm not really into 90's J-Pop, so I have no idea who Hitoki is.... but the bass is cool!

New bass day! As a lefty I have been trying to get my hands on an esp Ltd f bass for a a while as they were discontinued some time ago. As luck would have it esp found some b stock and decided to sell them off. Only thing I could find "wrong" with it was one small section in the finish with slight ripple, and I had to really look for it. Extremely minor finish flaw and I get a new F bass for over half off! I am grateful to have finally gotten one. Even though it's considered a low end model it plays awesome. Super stoked!
