I've owned 3 in the past 4 years, completely refinished each, and sold each one. The Deluxe was a B A D A S S and I miss it dearly, but it did stay in the same time zone and I'll see it on an upcoming album tour when the current owner's band wraps up the studio time.
Tremors have a very, very specific "voice" and a tonal accent unlike any other basses I've heard.
I'll end up owning another one somewhere along the way, and I'll keep the damn thing.

The Jazz is modified with dimarzio Ultra Jazz pickups and Badass bridge II. I replaced the pickguard and knobs with chrome ones.

i really wish they'd bring back the retrorocket series, they were really classy. I just don't dig the feel of the gravity and atlas series.

I had a break in and the bass was stolen. I later found the bass at an internet pawnshop auction. The thief showed his id while pawning it and got prosecuted. I have to wait a couple of months for sentencing.
The Precision I bought is out...
I just can't do the precision body. I much prefer both the look and sound of a Jazz bass.

Count me in. Just got this today off craigslist, a Fernandes P bass..don't know a lot about it, any input would help! Going to get it set up this week(some buzzing frets, wobbly volume knob) and have Seymour Duncan 1/4 pounders put in. Also at some point will probably repaint the pickguard black. But so far it sounds great.
Mine is currently in pieces but will be working soon after refinishing.
I recently found a MIJ AFB-100 5 string Deluxe advertised for $250 on CL. It was described as very good playable shape, just a few minor chips and scratches etc. I got there and he led me to his cold garage where it had been stored all winter - to start the neck had a 1"+ negative bow, with the 4 remaining strings stretched taut against the fretboard which had been badly defretted. It was the purple model with the gold hardware, but the hardware was rusting and the finish was just ugly.
He informed me that he put in a new battery though. I walked out with it for $90 and on the way home even regretted that much.
The truss though miraculously and instantly straightened out the neck which I thought I'd have to replace. I sanded down the fretboard some more and it looked pretty good actually. The electronics were original and surprising solid, no issues at all. A bit of Barkeepers Friend took care of all the rust. I put it together and it played and sounded just great. So smooth and easy to play, it is going to get used no matter what else I pick up.
Took it back apart to refinish, I will post pics soon but count me in...

Slaps, your not going to find too much out. Fernandes is very bad on serial # tracing and info. Just play the hell out of it and enjoy!
