I have two and sending the spare to Carlos...how can you beat free?!? I had Audere Classic modules installed in my APB-5's. Keep in mind that the "J" pickups are active as well and require 9 volts if original. Just need to snag an international shipping box from the US post office.

Carlos: if you run into any problems, contact TB member "walterw"...he did all the work and can help with identifying the proper connections.

TEAMWORK! Very cool! Hope the new gadgets help Carlos out immensely.
Carlos will hopefully have some good news to report.

Voy a intentar repararlo primero. Aquí en El Salvador es difícil conseguir circuitos Audere

Just replaced the stock Gotoh tuners on my Fernandes 6-string with Gotoh 350 Res-o-lites. Highly recommended.

Good choice. I put a set on my Ibanez Soundgear. The Fernandii both got Hipshot.

Thanks. I have Hipshot Ultralights on my Warmoth Deluxe Jazz 5. I’ve really wanted to try the Gotoh Res-o-lites for some time. I’m really impressed. Also, everything lined up perfectly with no surprises. I weighed the stock tuners. They were 60 grams each. Not bad but the 350s are light as a feather and smooth. This may just be me patting myself on the back, but I would swear my bass now sounds better too.

The buttons are about 1/3 thicker and, if you look closely, you can see the mold marks on the outer margin. I like mine, especially the scalloped shape.

He is trying to "reach the sun"

But do you think this one is an APB or FBR?

Not a clue. IIRC, the designation had something to do with the target market (Japan) and there may be a difference in the hardware (...I have two very different bridge configurations). The preamp harness should be the same.

Certainly worthy of further investigation.

I can't believe how very little info there is on Fernandes stuff. I just bought an FRB-95 and was looking to educate myself on it. Does anyone here own an FRB-95? First off, the serial # starts with 05, MIJ, and I wondered if that indicates the date of production (2000 or 2005)? The available catalogues go skip from 2003 to 2007, so I can't see if the FRB-95 was still being produced in 2005, or whether it was the newer Gravity 5 from Korea. What year did manufacturing move from Japan to Korea? I was also curious (not that any of this really matters) what plant mine was built at. The best I could deduce from what I've found is that Fernandes had early production at Kawai, then moved to Tokai, and then back to Kawai before leaving Japan for Korea (don't know what year?). My guess is my Bass was made at the end of the Japan run, and then maybe mine was made by Kawai? If anyone has any insight I'd love to hear them. Thanks...

Just picked up this 90's Fernandes Spectorbird MV 65-NS Nikki Sixx model for my Motley Crue Tribute band.
Plays great, however I'm going to swap out the stock pickups for a Dimarzio PJ set, since the factory pickups are pretty weak as far as output goes.
Can I get a number?

One for sale in local shop looks identical to yours not as good condition.. looks good though.
Don,t know much about these. Whats with the one pot is it volume or tone? what i have seen on you-tube its seems versatile with good sounds. What can you tell me? are the MIJ models stamped on the neck plate? Whats the difference between the MIJ and MIK ? Really want to know what I'm looking at. Thanks.

I "believe" as I don't have catalog access , 1984 MIJ , alder wood , 40.8mm or 1.6" nut ? , C-profile neck , Limited Edition series (this series were sold as cost effective model at the time) Strange as the quality was high !!! You can also join the Fernandes-Burny Facebook group - hit up admin Jon - he usually has all the catalogs -enjoy the bass PS this is not "The Revival" model
