I had a few people ask me about what the Hollow Body with Darkstars sounds like. Ed Friedland has posted a clip demonstrating all the various settings for those who are interested. Thank you Fred.

I remember hearing somewhere, but I may be wrong....Tim Commerford requesting heavy basses. I do think heavier axes play better when jumping around on stage.

I've actually requested heavy basses before as I always felt they were more resonant. I really like my basses in the 10 lb. range. The glaub I had was very light and there was always this thought that it would just fly away..

Got a few rough-mix tracks from my bands forthcoming album. Still needs some mixing/EQ'ing but these two are the closest to being "right" in my opinion.

(I actually wanted to go back and record my part on this one again, I was mainly treating it as a scratch, but everyone else liked it and we were kind of pressed for time)

Feedback definitely welcome (just don't be too harsh ;)). This kind of music isn't my forte or favorite, but playing is always better than not, imo.

All were recording using my 44-02D -> VT Bass -> Board.

Nice stuff! It's not my favorite genre, either, but the first song has a vibe similar to The Band, IMO (and that's a very good thing in my book). I dig the tone--makes me want a VT pedal that much more--and your playing. Thanks for posting these!:)

Thanks, very much appreciated :)

Yeah, the VT has been a godsend. It just warms up the tone so incredibly much. I never really thought my tone needed any extra warmth... until I bought the VT and heard what I was missing out on.

Also, I'm a HUGE fan of The Band so that's probably one of the best compliments I could receive :)

Fantastic. Ed is a great resource, and Fred deserves all kinds of kudos for the DS. I have a Glaub with one and it's glorious.

Mine has shipped today, scheduled to arrive on Wed.:hyper: very excited. I'm a little curious about the weight on mine though, it is one of the last Skylines before the move to Indonesia (could be heavy) the tracking says 28 lbs(shipping in Lakland HSC), I found a similar SKB case that weighs around 13 lbs, so that puts the bass plus packaging at 15 lbs... anyone think of other things that may add to the weight? i'm pumped about the bass but nervous about getting a boat anchor, worse comes to worse I'll have to buy one of those 4 inch straps.

Congrats kaiser,
Don't try to read into the shipping weight. When my US BG was shipped, the weight was posted about the same but the bass is only about 8.5 pounds. I'm sure it will be fine;)

Every bass I've had shipped says 28 lbs. All of the basses were light. I think that is just a default weight or something.

Sounds great!!

This makes sense, I bet they use 28lbs on every bass shipped as per an agreement with UPS in which they receive better pricing. Ok, now that i'm not worried about that, just have to keep my mind occupied for 48 hours.... Good thing i have tons of work and homework to be doing, and a toddler at home :D
