Got a few rough-mix tracks from my bands forthcoming album. Still needs some mixing/EQ'ing but these two are the closest to being "right" in my opinion.

(I actually wanted to go back and record my part on this one again, I was mainly treating it as a scratch, but everyone else liked it and we were kind of pressed for time)

Feedback definitely welcome (just don't be too harsh ;)). This kind of music isn't my forte or favorite, but playing is always better than not, imo.

All were recording using my 44-02D -> VT Bass -> Board.

VERY NICE!

well... no DJ for me until around July. I'm going to follow this issue up in private with Lakland as the public forum isn't exactly the place for it. If you all see a message with emoticons from me in the coming week, know it's a good thing.

Dang. Sorry they are taking forever on those. I don't know about everyone else, but I want to see them. Badly. Even I am getting impatient. Hope you can hang in there!

:bawl:

I feel you. About half the songs on my band's CD are like that for me.

Nice sounding 44, though. Was it sweetened up on the computer afters, or is that pre-producing magic (aside from all the levels and re-mixing that always gets done, I mean).

Thanks :)

Pre everything really. The only thing that's coloring the sound is the VT Bass I hooked into. From there it went directly onto the board, flat EQ. It's an older 44 as well, with the Barts.

the barts sound great, i used my 44-02 deluxe to record my bands album too.

its one of the best recording basses out there IMO.

tommix owns my 44-02 now, so im hoping to get another sometime in the near future, or better yet a 4-94

Yeah, it really does just sit perfectly in the mix. Incredibly "clean" tone as well.

When I first heard the play back I couldn't believe it was me playing :p

In that case, I'm sold on the barts. don't upgrade that bass!

Anyway, I quite like your work there.

Thanks, I really appreciate it :)

To the VT Bass's credit though, it REALLY warms up the bass. And since you guys are being so nice, here's one more for you :P

Little more of a driving rock song. Again, still needs some mixing and adjustments. There's some weird reverb on the drums that I don't like... I think the harp player was experimenting with some stuff in protools.
