Love this bass, drop dead sexy!

Say guys, can I join? Got my first Lakland a couple weeks ago...just a plain ol' 44-01, no mods or anything. I actually like the stock electronics...that, and I've never really modded at all, so I don't know what kind of trouble I'd be getting myself into! :p

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I recently upgraded to this from a Squier P Bass, and I really love it. Plus, all my bandmates approve! Couldn't get their eyes (or hands) off it last practice :)

sir: not need to mod a perfectly good bass! some guys like to but yours is sweet as is! congrats! that is quite an upgrade!

PM - NUBS for a number and go to: Link Removed for more fun!!!

welcome sir!

BTW - my first band were huge RUSH fans....I had to learn quick!

i think the skyline necks are great, but thats really were the difference lies between U.S, and skyline basses. the finish on the back of the neck on skylines are more of a satin finish whereas the U.S models are more of a natural oiled finish that feels more broken in. also the U.S. has graphite support in all their necks whereas the skylines have it only on the 5 string basses.

all and all the skyline necks do have the same dimensions as the u.s.. and now that the skyline necks are plek'd the are much closer in terms of fret work.

well said Matty! well said!

I personally do not see a HUGE difference in MOST US v. Skyline I play...my Skylines are however, MUCH superior to most other necks I have played (i.e. the "F" word etc)...

that all being said, there are a few US necks that REALLY stand out....my JO5CS is one and Adam Clayton's "dune buggy gold" JO was another....just somehting special about them!

YEH! LAKLANDS ARE ART!

ooooo....when and if I get that project in Cinnci (still open) I will have to see your museum! how much is admission?

k, doug...#17 is all yours. :)

As for the single/double debate....I just speoke to Leo (re: getting HaPpYfAcEs new DJ5 there for "surgery") and he said that they cannot do doubles on a DJ bridge because thre is not enough room (not sure HOW you are getting them Evan!) BUT:

they WILL do a 44-94 or 55-94 that way - just none have been done yet.....hmmmmmm....who will be the first? I would LOVE to be but I do not have the cash for a new US bass at this point (darn! wish I could sell that fretless!!!!)

Kirk told me at Namm that they couldn't do it because of the electronics not working well together.

The tally for #16.....
