The question is can you PLAY with more than two fingers?!?! LOL

you know, this is an interesting question.....I use all four on my left hand (I am right handed) but my index finger gets most of my use on my right hand....I do not use my middle finger all that much....and my ring finger (?) for get it!.....maybe I am just not coordinated enough...it does slow me down a LITTLE....

does anyone else play the same way (i.e. "handicapped" like me)?

Well, I'm DEFINITELY a two finger right hander, to the extent that I often "lead" with my middle finger.... now the left hand, I sometimes feel like I'm a two and a half fingered play...Sometimes use the ring and almost NEVER use the pinkie (I know, BAD RANDY, BAD!!!!)

hmmmm...interesting! I use my pinky when I am doing octaves....shows we all have our own styles!

seeing someone like Jauqo who uses them ALL makes me want to work harder.....

My left hand is all 4, but mainly 1 2 and 4 in the lower positions (I am an upright player). 1 2 and occasionally 3 in the right hand, with some thumb plucking as well.

Palm mutes and thumb stroke is always cool. I rock the groove with one and two. Three is for triplets and other more "rhythmic" things.

i have been relearning the bass lately and working hard on hand positioning, playing through all my scales and 7th chord drills without shifting my hand much so im really learning to use all the fingers on my left hand sufficiantly

I ahve tried to "train" myself many times but am always too impatient....it sucks because I never "really know" how to play right..I just "play".....

New thread......Here are mine:bassist:

As for the single/double debate....I just speoke to Leo (re: getting HaPpYfAcEs new DJ5 there for "surgery") and he said that they cannot do doubles on a DJ bridge because thre is not enough room (not sure HOW you are getting them Evan!) BUT:

they WILL do a 44-94 or 55-94 that way - just none have been done yet.....hmmmmmm....who will be the first? I would LOVE to be but I do not have the cash for a new US bass at this point (darn! wish I could sell that fretless!!!!)

ha! remember me make this question at the dawn of the Chi-era? It had been said that Lakland would make doubles with coil switching; however, due to different construction of the pickups it was unclear if they would do the S/H/S imitation similar to the 94/02 series. NOW is the time we settled this!.... yeah, who first :D

So you play like you pick your nose?

I use all left...even thumb ( to mute sometimes) and mostly two fingers on my right hand...sometime three if I feel saucy.
