sounds pretty good... I've been listening to the audio clips on the lakland site and I think I may go without a p-bass. the soloed neck of the j-sonic sounds remarkably similar to the dunn clips. give a listen and let me know what you think:

remember to compare the dunn to the neck only on the j-sonic.
Ooh, good call, they do sound very close. The pickstyle clip differentiates them a little more, but not too much. I have to try this next time I'm in the shop, which may not be till the GTG. Less than three weeks to go!:hyper:

BTW, could someone explain the difference in how Fralin and Nordstrand jazz pickups sound? All I hear is, "you can't go wrong with either".

I dunno, the only Nordstrands I've had were a MM/J set in a 55-02 I had. I can't make an honest comparison between those and my 55-94's Barts, cause the 55-02 had an Audere pre. In the end, I sold the -02, and still play and record w/ my 55-94 almost exclusively.

My USJO5 had Fralins, and they sounded exactly like a vintage F**der! I was even able to compare it to some primo 60's jazzes while I had her, no drool escaped my lips for the non-Lakies, hehehe. In fact, they bored me.... they were missing a string HAHA. I miss that JO5 :crying:, she just didn't fit in w/ my/our band's sound.

Oh, I also was able to compare the Fralins to the Aeros in my DJ5... all I can say is that (to my ears) the aeros are more "modern jazz" and didn't have that burpiness of the Fralins. Sidenote: my GF and I have been watching the Coheed and Cambria "Neverender" DVDs, and the bassist has been playing a very vintagey-sounding jazz, I think it's a custom shop 60's model. Anyways, I was admiring the tone when my GF said "it sounded like the bass just farted" :D. I about fell off the couch, cause in actuality, IT DID sound that way, HAHAHA!! Personally, I think the Spectors that he used to play, fit the band better.
