....Yeah, I can hear a difference too. I have some real damage to my right ear, and probably considerable damage to my left. So, I DON'T hear a lot of subtle "things". But, to me maple FBs seem to allow the higher notes to cut thru better (and it seems with more volume
) in a loud live setting when compared to RW which sounds warmer and deeper to me. I have little experience w/ ebony on a fretted bass, but LOVE it on my Pentabuzz!!
