Wow, it's been a while. Sorry about the absence, but a play I directed was opening, so alll my surfing time was being sucked into a theatre-sized sink. Looks like things are charging right along around here without me. How many Lakkies is that for Markusbass now?

And on a completely unrelated note, something I never really knew the answer to.... What's the purpose of the pup cover? I mean the darn thing dates back to the 50s and 60s, yet I never knew what the actual purpose was for... and I call myself a bass player

yes sir...black beauties are on the JO5.....althouth they will be coming off shortly. I ordered a J-Retro for it and when it comes in she will be getting some new nickels.

Thanks Matty....the only thing I wish I could do is throw a bound and blocked neck on both of them. Unfortunately, that appears to be the downside (and the only one I have found so far) of playing skylines and not USA's....although the price difference does make up for it in my book....lol. Up next, hopefully, is a 55-02....a few have been close, but haven't snagged one yet. If I can sell my rig (the one pictured) I will get one immediately.

What rig is that and how much would you sell it for? Would you part it or sell it all together? Specs?
How'd you like the black beauties? I wanted to get a set ever since I saw Geezer playing them on the Heaven & Hell at Radio City a few years ago. They will definitely be on my black and maple 55-02 with black hardware (when I finally get it). Think I have a thing for black
