Yeah everything at 12, with the level adjusted to keep it in line with my clean tone (depending on compression, bass, etc), and maybe the era rolled back just a little. It's... it's the sound in my head; it's full bodied, with some fur, and a BEAUTIFUL shimmering distortion on top of everything that responds to a passive tone knob like magic. I just recently got my first all tube head, and it does tube grind better than it >.>

That Cliff Burton sound is sweet! I was trying to decide between a VMT, an SFT or a Sansamp VT. I think my decision has just been made.
I can't wait to try this with my Tel Ray Morley Power Wah Fuzz; hopefully my neighbours house will fall down or something!!

I found this setting really nice for a "low drive mode". It's incredible how this pedal reacts with dynamics while playing.

Awesome Thread.. I just pulled the trigger on one of these bad boyz today..cant wait.

So, can I make a suggestion?.. (unless I missed it)

Maybe if people mention what bass(es) (and amp?) they are using while rockin the pedal as well.
That way, when people try to "dial in" that certain sound while playing their [Brand X], it may vary when someone else is using [Brand Z].

Just a thought.
anyway, I hope to be reading/posting DGVM settings in the future...

Thanks! The micro amp alone gave more punch to my passive jazz bass at equivalent volume, and improved the built in compressor of my behringer combo. In chain (before the vmt) it amplified a little the drive/era effects. For me this setup is perfect to play 70's r'n'r bass.

I agree. For this reason I put the picture with all my setup.

Aaaah! That explains the lack of manual when mine finally arrived on Sat!

Anyway, it seems there's a manual to download from the Vintage Microtubes page on the Darkglass website. Tells you what everything does and gives a little more info on the interaction between the Drive & Era knobs. Helpful to say the least.

As I just got mine I think I'll be coming here for setting suggestions and posting mine too.

Oh my goodness how my board has changed!!!! I have to look at that pic again but I don't think I'm using any of these pedals anymore besides the VMT that I JUST got again. Crazy.

Anyhow, I think I got a good setting with mine now. I've prescribed once and played a show once with it so far and it sounds absolutely magical :)

I have the blend around 3 o'clock, level around 9 o'clock and or to room, drive and era at 3 o'clock. I'm still deciding exactly where I want the drive and blend to go, but I dig the era more the CW direction. The era is great! There are so many tonal possibilities in that one knob.
