Responding to a craigslist ad, I went to go get a matching OBC115 to stack up with the one I already have. While testing it out, the seller told me he also had an OBC410 for sale. I hooked it up and had a listen, and it sounded good. Then, for giggles, I played both cabs together and was just stunned - massive air movement and low end with clarity and articulation! The seller then offered to sell me the 410 for the same price as the 115.
I wasn't sure which one to buy, after reading all the threads on mismatched drivers. I also know that the OBC115 I have is loaded with a Delta speaker, and wasn't sure if the OBC115 I demoed had a Delta or Gamma speaker, which according to the engineers, would make the whole matching drivers point moot if they weren't the same. I also didn't bring my cab, so I had no way of knowing how the pair of fifteens sounded vs. the stack I was blown away by. In the end I trusted my ears and my gut, and bought the 410 for $269, as it was too good a deal to pass up.
To those who have played both the 410/115 and 115x2 stacks, what are the plusses and minuses of each? As much as I love the sound of the 410/115, I'm second-guessing myself and wondering if I made the best choice.
