Sir Paul certainly pounds out the root on this one. Ringo's incredible feel on Get Back makes it one of my favorites. What a great drummer!

Definitely more feel than musical accuracy, and Paul's walk ups (trip ups?) to the bridge are magical. It's absolutely brilliant the way that it is.

To the OP... laugh at you? You kidding me? That's one of the most bass azz bass lines there ever was! Abbey Road was one of the albums that made me want to play bass in the first place. Want to really have fun? Learn the whole second side of the record.Mean Mr Mustard, Polyethylene Pam, She came in through the bathroom window..... Paul was a bass master!

Ok so i know some of u are gonna laugh at me but here goes......
I m a beginner/novice and i play in a cover band, and we decided one of our new songs is gonna be Oh Darling by the Beatles.
I thought it was gonna be a walk in the park until i started to learn it! It s quite chellenging and eventually i had to put it on an A - B Repeat Player just to work it out! There s quite a lot of notes - i have a new respect for Mr. McCartney!

MY reason for putting Sir Paul so high on my list is its not just his playing on his songs but also on John and George's, like Something.

The common thread seems to be his bass line ALWAYS made the song better. Seemed like that was his mantra when coming up with a bass line. Personally, we ought to freeze his head when he passes...........

Have heard demos of songs before Paul added his part, clearly he made it better.

Still boggles my mind knowing his era was the infancy of the bass we play today, evolving from the standup.

Listening to the isolated bass line and looking up the chords for the song really helped me learn it.
