1983 Daion Mark XX-B...................Anyone else here own a Daion?

I have been trying to get my hands on one of these for years. I used to own one back in 1992 and fell on hard times and had to let it go :scowl:

But now......I'm a very, VERY happy person!! I need to go put my pants back on.

I haven't opened the control cavity, but if IIRC it's passive, with the 3 position switch up top for Neck/Both/Bridge selection.

and yeah, she's in wonderful shape considering the age. I need to take her apart and do some cleaning and give her a proper set up.

These were crafted by FujiGen @ Matsumoto from 79-84 (IIRC). The same place that got the Fender contract (according to what I have read), and were designed to compete with Alembics and such at the time.

unfortunately it isn't. it's a kahler. i'd love to be able to put the original back on there, as i am finding this one to be a bit on the high side. but i have no idea where to find one.

I'm unfamiliar with that bass, and would enjoy hearing more about them from those that may have one (two?). VERY nice from the photos, but only you that have them would know their real worth, and appreciate their real value in your arsenal

Pretty much any MIK Hondo/ Epiphone will have that style bridge, as far as I can tell...

the catalog from 1982 listed this bass retail for ~876. The production run was from 79-84 and that was it.
