Here's the headstock of mine:
Brass nut, brass bridge, even the truss rod cover and headstock inlay are brass. The rear control cavity cover matches the grain of the bass. Beautiful, good sounding, well put together basses.
Passive electronics. Action can be set very, very low.
what year is yours? (first 2 numbers of SN)
mines an 83' got all of the same (except for the aftermarket bridge

and apparently the numbers after that are the production run, mine being 0387, so #387 of '83. although it's not clear if that was just basses or the entire line (guitars and basses).

Man, the craftsman ship on the back of that bass looks NICE! From a design standpoint, with its contours, and wood laminates, it just stands out to me.

Yeah, I do have a few instruments. I even have more than what's listed, but they are guitars and such.
My last three numbers are 709.
