A link to the video would be helpful but in that point in time probably the only commercially available 8 string was a Hagstrom. The Ohio Express hit "Yummy Yummy" popped up on my YouTube feed this weekend. The music video shows their touring bassist (Dean Kastran) playing an eight-string bass.
Does anyone have any idea who made the aforementioned bass?

I loved it too. Then I grew up and started listening to Frank Zappa instead

Snoopy and the Red Baron
The Martian Hop

YouTube must be running the "Tormentor" algorithm this week.
Aye. The original Hagström H8:
Did anyone else notice that the bass in the video is not the bass on the soundtrack? In fact nothing in the video, including the musicians, is on the recording. The Ohio Express, was a brand name, not a band.

I would be interested in hearing The Ohio Players covering "Yummy Yummy"So, not the Ohio Players? In fact the polar opposite? Another I'm a dolt moment. I've always intermixed the two bands, all whilst thinking that there was no way they could have possibly written each others music. I always loved that song, mostly because my mother hated it so much. I remember it mostly from some Hannah Barbera teen mystery cartoon where they were doing the door chase scene set up or something like that.
