Ohms

That was honestly my first reaction two fingers when I first learned that it meant you could use an external speaker with the amp but not while the internal combo speakers were plugged into the amp at the same time. Did not make much sense to me either why they would bother to make the combo when in reality without the added weight and bulk you should just buy the amp separate.

+1. When amp heads were all big and heavy, combos made sense. But now that good-sounding micro amps are available at value pricepoints, with high power and good feature sets, IMHO combos don't offer any advantage over head + cab.
What is it with the war against combos? Exactly the same arguments were used when heads were bigger.

As heads got smaller, lighter and more powerful, so did combos to the point that they barely weight more or take more space than empty cabs, which makes them even more interesting than before compared to a head that you still have to carry separately, install and plug.

See? The argument works both ways and is still dumb. If you prefer a head buy a head, if you dig combos get one. There isn't one better than the other it's all a matter of taste.

Besides, heads and combos suck equally compared to MY active cabs !
