Double Bass Ok, Between these 3 tuners.. which one?

Looking for ability to detect 5-string Upright bass low notes and looking for decent battery life..

I'm kinda routing for the korg flagship Sledgehammer one..

I could buy 2..

thoughts?

The Korg AW3G2 detects the low B well when clipped to the bridge. Not so well if clipped to the pegbox, but no problem there for the E.
The Korg tuner CA 40 with a cheap piezo clip pickup even works at the pegbox with a low B but this might be a bit uncomfortable. And my wife can even tune her harpsichord with it...

I have both the Sledgehammer and the Pitch hawk g2. I know you already bought the Sledgehammer, but I have to say I like the Pitch hawk much more. So much easier to use on the gig. The Pitch hawk seems to grab the notes faster, especially the E. Just sayin.

Oh no, the Sledghammer looks totally cool. I got it for all the same reasons as you. (HA) The pitch hawk 2 just works better. And yes, I think I'm gonna splatter my Wranglers over the Poly tune clip. Probably the only one I'll use. Think I'm gonna have a lot of clip on's to give to friends and students.

the TC Poly one is the ultimate.. but I fly to europe in like 6 days so I can't order that and get it in time.. I may end up buying one over there.. its exactly what we all need period..

but in terms of the pitchhawk 2 and the sledgehammer pro, the sledgehammer PRO is more expensive and I think it has just as good technology inside so I can't see myself buying a pitchhawk2 because you think it works better..

Unless it is in the tech specifications that it is literally better.. is it??

i hope it isn't! haha. otherwise my Amazon Prime account is going to be put to the test!

I bought the sledgehammer pro and hope it's gonna do it's job! until I end up getting the t.c. polyclip one.. god I can't stop thinking about it haha..

It does take some getting used to, but I like it's sensitivity. Once you master the "strobe" part, it works very easily.
I think I mastered it. :) I found it to be quite unstable and unreliable in practice.

...After extensive experience with the Peterson Stroboclip, I sold it and bought the Snark SN-2. I suggest that anyone interested in this topic start at the top, here.
